Just a bit of daftness Dave!!! Things started to get a bit “hairy” and “hazy” from then on,circa 1973!! I’ll put my thinking cap on!! and I haven’t even got to Big J’s either so that might set the “Proles” off on the thread, and Ooooh! all those Scanias(and 1 or 2 Volvos!) not to mention circa 300 trailers Ooooooh! pass the smelling salts before I pass out with the sheer terror of remembering it all!! Cheers Dennis.

Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Never managed to make it to the FA cup final Dennis, just maybe the family will treat me to a ticket for a pressie before i croak, you know for services rendered ie loads of school runs for grandkids and looking after the cats when the grandkids and parents are on holiday oh and the free plumbing service i supply to all and sundry as well as will you have a look at the car Dad i’ts making a funny noise oh and not forgetting when your at my house and if the window cleaner calls “he always does” just pay him and i’ll give you the money when i see you, trouble is they all suffer from memory loss, ah well what are Dads for, you never know i might get the chance of a kickabout with George Best one day but i’m not in any rush.
thanks harry long retired.
Not sure what I would call my first lorry, but the one I distinctly remember taking my driving test in was a Leyland Lynx (GSC—T?) Must have been an ex Scottish motor - that was an experience!
This was the lorry that i learned the trade in as a very curious and keen passenger the nights i spent in this one when i should have been in at home in bed ! (sorry mum!) Jack was family friend and my mum kept a pub where he would come for a wet on a sat. night.
