:open_mouth: Are you going to ask each time you see a different UN number or placard??  :grimacing: :sunglasses:

thanks DD, and no     i’m not going to asking everytime i see a different one, i only really asked about that one because of that placard i hadnt seen before and just wondered what it was carrying as thought the placard was saying something along the lines of “complete enviromental failure for the next 60 years” if the stuff in the tanker entered the water table.

i prob wont ask again unless i see a something that really stands out in which case i’ll send you a PM so not to ■■■■ everyone off with my pointless questions as some might see it.

thanks again

HI CC,

I was pullin’ yer leg mate.  :grimacing:

I’m happy to answer your questions, but I just wanted to get the balance right between info for the fire brigade and the info for a driver cos ADR is quite precise about who is responsible for what.

It’s just that as a non-ADR driver, you probably wouldn’t have realised this.
Even if you were ADR trained, info like “what does the ‘3Z’ mean” is completely irrelevant to a driver.

Asking about the ‘fish and tree’ placard was a perfectly good question mate, so I’ve got no problem with that.

BTW, UN Class 9 is for dangerous substances/articles, which don’t fit the legal definition for inclusion in UN Classes 1 - 8 (which have very clear definitions,) but which are still dangerous. UN Class 9 can be likened to a safety net designed to catch stuff that can be quite deadly but unclassifiable elsewhere in the Regs. After all, none of us would want stuff like that being carried around by untrained drivers simply because the stuff doesn’t legally fit in another UN Class.

Hi DD

Saw one today that looked interesting, couldnt make out what the wording/warning was but got the impression if you crashed and you spilt your load of it you’d be in trouble :open_mouth: :open_mouth: and possibly coughing up blood within seconds of it leeking out  :open_mouth:

it was 3271 (the bit thats driver dont need to know was 2X  )

cheers

I think you would be snoring very loudly mate, but your engine would probably smoke & knock a bit if you used it on a cold morning :stuck_out_tongue:
