Being totally pi55ed of with DAF trucks / dealers
my question is what to buy now
Get a Kenworth.
Whatever you buy you will get ripped off. I have worked for main agents for Mercedes ,Iveco, Volvo, ERF, Renault and MAN and they all squeeze every drop out of you. I hated working for them. They rip off customers and treat their staff like crap. Fleet repair is far better than working for these parasites.
They all now too complicated for there own good.
The trucks where i work do 200000 k a year with different driver each time they go out. So they are put through their paces.
Got 60 or so dafs which have been ok but if the workshop carnt sort out the problem it goes back to main dealer and you can guarantee it will come back with the same problem.
M A N’s been a bit of a disappointment, nice truck to drive, but in the sick bay far too often.
Maybe ok for single driver shift.
Got some Renaults. Haven’t done 100000 yet but they seem quite good all round, not sure about back up.
Scanias- haven’t had much to do with them lately but the new gen ones seem to get towed back far too often.
So value for money i would give Renault a look.
Mercs are a good fleet truck but the drivers will stick their noses up.
When i was a small haulier i fell out big time with volvo over a gearbox so i havent put that on the list.
If all the truck makes are crap and all the dealers are useless what the ■■■■ do we buy
