Or as we used to say “I was in Baghdad when you were in your dads bag”

Hi billyhunt. That brings back memories the old cft/bft thing. Hated both

Harry Monk:
the biggest risk I’ve taken was spending my life savings (and then some) putting my own truck on the road.

Fair play to you for having the balls to put your own wagon out there. I can raise the finance for my own unit but that whole side of the industry eg getting o-license,having to get my own contract etc scares the bee-jeezus outta me. Ill forever be stuck in the rat race working for someone else. Hope it keeps working out well for you

Agreeing to do a run to the ME, in a more than well used Scania 110 with a borrowed trailer and no ME experience. My philosophe was treat it like a normal run down to Germany but don’t stop  :imp: My saving grace was I was young. Plus there were a lot of extremely helpful guys out there…

Yea it is a daft question :unamused: :

Not the biggest, but the most recent, went to a remote drop to deliver a diesel engine on a pallet. There was no one about but phoned the guy and he was happy for me to tail-lift it off and leave it outside. Got in the back to find the pallet was broken leaving the ratchet strap loose and the heavy engine wobbling about like a goodun. Knew that if it didn’t come off here, no way would it last all day bouncing round in the back, so tightened the strap as much as possible without further destroying the pallet and went for it in slow motion. Never been so relieved to see a pallet touch down in one piece.
