Went down to afew agency’s where I live today. Thay all said thay could get me work as soon as I was registered.
One even said he could get me a night shift this evening if I could get down and sign up in time. Was a 10pm start driving a group of people in class 2 truck to a place where thay would do a night shift, I’d just have to wait in the truck for the rest of the night then driving them back in the morning. For me it sounded like a great first job for a new driver. Also offered a shift tomorrow said I could choose ither. Was up to me witch I wanted I was abit speechless.
Its a shame it was such short notice and that i could’nt do ither of them as i got work comitments tomorow alreddy. I was surprised as I was expecting to get a blank from every agency I spoke to but so far it seems quit the opposit. I felt bad having to turn both down as so many people seem to be not getting any work. But I relly wasn’t expecting offers of work befor I’d even signed up.
Still I know many on here may say this is how all agency’s are just to get you signed up. Time will tell. There all saying thay got more driving work than drivers and are having to turn down shifts as thay don’t have the drivers to cover them.
Yer I was abit wares of the hole thing myself. Thay were being abit hazy on the details, just said it was class 2 registerd and just had to drive some guys out to farm for them to do a night shift then drive them back in the morning. I think it was just kind of a taxi run, someone must have been helping someone with workers for the night ?
This might be one of those RDC rumour type things but I was told that HGV drivers can drive coaches so long as there are no paying customers on board. The vehicle is more or less the same as a rigid after all.
Anyone else heard that one or know if there’s any truth in it ?
Probably meant to say (but forgot some of the finer details)
“Drive to Calais High Street, collect 25 ‘Workers’ & fetch them back to a ‘Remote’ Farm just next to South Mimms services. Then in the morning, just take them back. If they’re not there- don’t worry-just pop back over to Calais & fetch some more”.

Half true; it’s no passengers, cat C licence held for at least 2 years and only if road testing after repair / driving to be repaired.
