Having found a couple of scrap deals, I am interested in purchasing a scrap (MOT write off) trailer for storage and possibly for living in. But I like the sound of more space for my money and I am interested in the idea of a double decker trailer now!
So you get 2 flours up until the trailer meats under the unit right? But what about the height of the flours? Can you stand up inside of each of them?
Some you can and some you cant.
The ones B&M use you can stand up on both floors but the ones Hovis use you cant stand up on the top floor you need to lower it.
To answer your question, yes you will be able to get a double decker trailer that allows you to stand and use both floors
depends on how tall you are. I am 5’6 and can wander round the bottom deck in ours with no issues, the taller guys do have to stoop a bit. I wouldnt have an issue living in one, but anyone around 6ft would find it a bit uncomfortable I would think.

Why dose the B&M have more room inside then the Hovis? Is it the overall height or is it that the bottom is lower?
If you were looking to live in a trailer, you’d be better off looking at a fridge trailer which is not only well insulated but has a built-in means of heating and cooling.

Is that an air con system turned in reverse powered by a motor. Are they not very inefficent?

Yes, it won’t be very fuel efficient but if you are looking to live on it, at least a fridge trailer will be well insulated.

I guess you would have a problem if you planned to use the rear of the trailer for your storage and the font for living in them
Personly I prefer a log burning stove at first and and a gas caravan heater as next source of heat. But running one of those bloody think will cost a fortune to run never mind to buy it second hand. Think of what it dose and is supposed to do as opposed to what it will be doing, like buying a sledge hammer to crack a peanut
I know the double deck LST’s on Gregory’s were 7ft bottom deck as i am 6ft 3ins tall with no problems brushing deck off, but top deck had to bend down to a crawl along to remove broken straps.
Overall height 16ft 2 ins.
It’s a sad post when people are thinking of living in trailers what’s the world coming to ? I know how expensive it is to rent in Bristol as my youngest son lives there and he’s earns fantastic wages compared to a manual worker. I would not want to be young nowadays.
