what should I do?

hi all I need some guidance if ya didn’t know I have held my Cat C (class 2) since August last year and in that time had one gig and managed to screw that up  I hold a CPC card and a Digicard… but despite this I have yet to get another gig Iv been around the agencies only to be disappointed by them and I have not had much luck in getting 7.5ton locally i,v been unemployed since December and im getting feed up

so what should I do next

now I could go for my C+E but I’m worried that I mite still be in the same boat I’m in now I could do that and up the anti a bit… by going for my O license I know thats a bit of a long shot and I know there is a lot of work involved but I’m getting Desperate

I don’t want to go back to being a KP!!!

I have given it some thought on the O license and I was checking out the RHA site and thay do a home study course I could go for that its just an idea

Is it that available work in your area is low or are you getting knock backs for another reason ?

very few jobs out there and when a job dose come up I go for it but I get one of 2 responses

  1. Job has been filled already
  2. “you’ve got no experience”

I feel like I’m just going round in circles

jobs are sparse and there are many experienced truckers out of work in your area then its not surprising you are experiencing difficulties

Perhaps looking further afield for tramping jobs might work as that would only need two long drives a week to and from work

Problem with that is most tramping jobs tend to be C+E

I suppose tramping seems the way forward for me I’m willing to take the risk… but I need to sort out my C+E… Ill think of something thanks for the impute ROG

do you realise you will need roughly £8000 to get an operators licence plus all the other stuff that’s involved

+1 I’m in middle of getting restricted license for a charity project and it isn’t a decision to take lightly.

From what I can see of the (lack of) job market, C+E would be a far better use of the money IMHO.
Have you tried the council for dust cart driving? Good hours, difficult driving, but if you can do that you can do anything.
