What’s the story behind this lorry

Been at toddington stvs s/b I’m guessing for 2/3 week , looks abandoned, at first I thought accident , but I’m not so sure , foreign lorry

Is foreign as can see angel morts sticker on door.
Lack of number plate.
I’d guess been stoped by vosa been impounded.
but then again would been padlocked wheel clamped.
So who know swhat ever I think they’ve done a runner and abandoned it for what ever. Reason.
Maybe been nicked not full or prawns is it?

It’s strange edd ,it’s as if they’ve abandoned it but decided to take the lights / bumper etc , when I first saw it I thought driver was asleep in the cab ( curtains drawn ) & he was just waiting for bits to repair it ,

I wonder what the bill will be for parking at srvs for 2/3 weeks assuming they can trace owner

There is a reg plate on tri

if it is a foreign lorry then even if the plate is legit and actually owned by the same company as the unit then they wont be able to trace them. all they will get is no speaky english.

Broken down, driver picked up by another vehicle, and now the spare parts thieves have visited? I guess that there’s a fair few pennyworth in the parts which are missing.

Possibly, but it would have to be a serious breakdown for a foreign driver to be recovered I would imagine? So maybe it is abondoned? Rather surprised the trailer is still there…unless it is loaded with hazardous waste or whatever??
But I agree, the tooth fairy’s malevolent cousin, who takes things away but leaves no coin, has probably been visiting.

Perhaps he’s dead.

If any of us were parked up, especially abroad, and died in our sleep, I wonder who would come looking or know where to look.

I’m assuming the lorry would be tracked , owners would contact British authorities , assuming it’s not a owner driver

It’s been there a few weeks so you’d of thought someone from toddington services would query it being there that long .

The curtains are pulled though , if I m in there next time & it’s still there I’ll alert them , should of told them this morning

I’d agree. Not just cars and vans they’re taking parts off. Friend of mines van got done last month while he was away, took the front end complete.. bumpers, lights, sensors. Very neat job.

And a lad a work had his VW Golf R done, same thing.

It’s an IVECO mate.

If Vibrates, Everything Comes Off.

It’s probably just the wild potholes on Toddington that’s done it.

For cars, its been going on for years.

Vaxuhall Corsa were an early target, and some Fiestas too, apparently.

More recently, old style Defenders were having their door stripped while parked up.

Much more recently there was a story about the spare wheels on G Wagens being stolen (A £2k replacement from the dealer)

Going full circle, back when VW’s were having their badges stolen as a status symbol by rappers, VW Golfs are having their front badge stolen as it contains the electronics for the adaptive cruise and auto emergency braking. Costs are around £1500

Yep it’s big money now used car parts.
It all started with the internet, gone are the days when you rocked up to your local scrap yard with a spanner and screwdriver and the guy said..‘just look around’ for the part you wanted, which you then paid a tenner for.
All the parts are catalogued on racks, they sell them all over the country via e.bay so parts are 5x more expensive than they were…
It’s a big and lucrative business now, and the lowlife are capitalising on it.
Catalytic converters are a favourite.

Gone are the days as you say going local scrapyard .
climbing on top of 4 cars stacked up.
crawling through window to remove parts spent lot my youth in scrapyards happy days.
Today I have a basic focus estate 2012 reg number plate light wasn’t working so went change bulb .
Light is sealed led light built into the boot handle.
Fords / remoco wanted £68 for replacement one.
So ordered one off eBay that still cost me £25

I always remember this one , Norwich supporter went to game against brim and came back to this
