what now

I passed my Class 2 in Nov 13 and then went on my HIAB course, was told by agencies, that i also had to have had at least 6 months HIAB experience aswell as held my class 2 for 2 years or have 6 months experience in commercial driving, so it seems as a new driver adding extras onto your class 2, you are still unable to get any work or a foot in the door with 95% of companies.

Well it depends on supply & demand unfortunately there is more drivers then there are jobs & it is the quiet period just keep going & something will turn up but this has alway been the case of experience far as long as I can remember even in the 70’s so it is not new that you need experience to get a job I hit it in 1978 & have hit it again more recently

ok so I have the pennies in the bank now, however I have (I think) decided against going for the CE. It seems a waste of money at the moment. I think as some have mentioned furthering my “skills” with hiab/moffat etc would be a better move.

I have my ADR ( full ) did have forklift ( recently ran out ) then done my CE & that was the 1 that opened door for me

But it is up to you as if you get your CE you poss will get work then further your skills with Hiab etc although does depend on the job market where you are

just keep digging away i no the pay rates have between the 2 arent much but with class one more choice in work not so much of the multidrop hi-ab good thing to have but as i found out the training for it needs to be good and learning to say no comes in handy if you go builders merchants customers expecting you lift over fences drop it there etc as many have said ring or drop in on companys…

I don’t mind saying no
