What nationality is this?

I followed a wagon and drag through belgium last week with “scg” on the plate. Any idea`s?

I really must get out more and stop asking daft questions :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

It’s Serbia and Montenegro.

And that SCG plate will disappear soon with them becoming independent following a referendum a couple of weeks ago. Spot 'em while you can JB. :wink: :smiley: :smiley:

S for serbia so whats the c and g bit for? Thanks anyway… i`ll sleep easy now :laughing: :wink:

C’mon you guys - you only had to ask!!! :laughing: I’ll help you sleep even easier now, JB!! :sunglasses:

S = Srbija = Serbia
C = Crna = black = ■■■■■
G = Gora = mountain = monten

The bit of the ‘old’ Yugoslavia that we know as Montenegro, was always (‘locally’) know as the black mountains, hence it’s ‘modern-day’ name.

I’m now confused why I ‘need to get out more’ because I answered JB’s question??!! :unamused: :unamused:

I’m sure they weren’t using “SCG” when I went there about 10 years ago. Can’t remember what tho’

As far as I know they only started using it in 2003 Harry. After the break up of Yugoslavia they were from 1992 until 2003 called the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and I think they still used the old YU as their country plate during that time. Following the referendum a couple of weeks ago Montenegro declared independence yesterday, June 3rd so in fact SCG no longer exists, although they will be competing in the world cup.

Don’t anyone mention Macedonia or Makedonia :stuck_out_tongue: It might cause a war
