Stop feeding the trolls

You and a few others who know better keep engaging these absolute clowns who know absolutely nothing about real world road transport today but more importantly have nothing to contribute anyway. Chester and pals are total clowns (or circus seals ) and life is way too short to waste a moment with them.

Why do you guys bother to read their absolute drivel not to mention engaging and responding with them?

So many descent discussions have been hijacked into mind numbing oblivion by people engaging with these muppets so please ignore them completely. It’s real easy cos their names are always at the top of their post.

It is just like avoiding dog poop when walking down a footpath. You notice it in your peripheral vision and side step it without even realising it was ever there.

All I do is spot their name out of the corner of my eye and skip to next post.

Mods: Don’t be fooled into thinking troll posts and counter posts are good for numbers or for business as that will be very short lived.

A lot of people bailed before when you didn’t get a handle on the tosh postings and a lot more will loose interest very soon if you guys can’t clean out the latest rot.

the only way it would make any difference is if the poor souls that read their pish and somehow are gullible enough to take them as genuine posts could take a reality pill and stop genuinely replying to them as thats almost as irritating as the trolling mince they are replying to.
if they continue to allow trolls with the excuse that they and their aliases are posting within the rules, then they must accept that others will interact with them to the extent that they do.
all thats ever said is to ignore them which is fine till theres a good thread going or topic started then the gorlmless ones start interacting.

we all know who he/they are,and we all know their posts are just fantasy drivvle posted for their self gratification but who cares at the end of the day…obviously not trucknet if the mods allow them to keep posting.

Too true Amigo…unfortunately… but let’s see if we can let the air out of their tyres ourselves by totally ignoring absolutely all their posts?

But as Eminem said, ‘it would be so empty without me’, alas without the trolls there’s gonna be far less gold like ‘whale omelette [emoji38][emoji91]’ being ejected into the public domain, and I for one demand that level of quality content from any forum I frequent.

Alas if troll feeding stops I will be taking my quality interjection of feed for them elsewhere…[emoji16]

There are people with issues on here Ben. They forget its a forum which is meant for discussion, opinions and banter. The problem with some is if they don’t agree or dispute your opinion they call you a troll. I admit like most others I will wind others up and have a laugh but most of what I say is serious and true especially when it comes to road safety.(which is severely lacking in some drivers)

As someone who has driven trucks for a lot longer that the majority on here it really makes me laugh that some drivers live in a little truck fantasy world believing they can do no wrong and god help anyone that criticizes them.
It just shows the problems that can arise on a forum. I would love to meet some of these members in real life and see how the discussion went then.

Anyway whether I post in the future or not have fun out there and stay safe.

BTW DD I believe we are from the same country. I always thought you were Irish.

Wow, all these views since this morning. For someone who supossedly talks pish there seems to be an awful lot of interest in what I post.
Brilliant, I love it.

I have no beef with what you post Jake, its pixels on a screen, nothing more nothing less. If I met you in a pub I’d happily buy you a pint and chat. Some of what you’d say I’d agree with, some i wouldn’t, and vice versa Id hope. I’d find a life where everybody agreed on everything to be intolerably boring tbh.

Having the ability to stear with my extra leg.

Cheers maoster, yeah I reckon you and I could have a good chat about this, that and everything. I have no beef with anyone on here either and away from the some of the nonsense there is some good stuff on here.
Sometimes though the biased and hypocritical pixels get to me.

In all honesty Rob i do all those things that you have mentioned and I have only been driving 2 years in February (Class 1 that is) but I treat others how I like to be treated and give a hand to anyone that is having difficulty with curtains or getting onto a bay, even got out the cab the other day to stop traffic to help a bloke get into a tight spot and it turned out he was a newbie, only just passed his test 1 month ago but the others on the road were that impatient they just squeezed by so yes anything I can do to help others I will do but nowadays it just seems to me that everyone is in such a rush whether that is because they are under pressure or want to impress the boss (none of those are me as the job gets done in my time) I even sit on the motorway at 4 and watch the others battle to overtake while I am sat there smiling at the all chilled out.

As mentioned, pride, in whatever capacity.
Knowing when to lift-off the throttle as much as knowing when to press on it.
Driving proactively, as opposed to reactively.
Demonstrating discipline in both driving and mindset.

5.Get out and watch you in safely if you are having ag getting on a bay.

My second shift in an artic (i learned in a wag n drag) I had to deliver to an old mill in Oldham, I had to get onto a bay that was definitely not designed for a tri axle. I was there for about 10 mins or more in an absolute mess trying to get onto this bay. After I had eventually managed to jack knife it onto the bay, which was the only way so as to allow other trucks into the mill, the guy sat in the truck next to me made some comment about me doing it the difficult way. Cheers mate, would have appreciated it if you could have got out your truck and told me the “easier way” as it was clear I was a new driver. To his credit though, he did give me some tips for reversing afterwards, No doubt after watching all the mistakes I had made !

Yep, some lads it just comes naturally from first week, as I said there are lots of new drivers who are good drivers with all the qualities imo.
Then they are the ones who will never make the grade as long as they have an ■■■■ orifice. :unamused:

On the road I always make a snap judgement on determining either 2 categories, some of you will not agree with some (or all  ) on my list.

Proper…
1.Let you out of a slip road, junction, or give way at an obstacle facing you…parked car etc.
2.Flash you in after overtaking.
3.Leave plenty room before pulling back in on an overtake.
4.Don’t leave you hanging like a spare prick after pulling over to let them join the m.way.
5.Get out and watch you in safely if you are having ag getting on a bay.
6.Give you a warning flash for speed cameras, patrol cars etc.
7.Pull off a pump after filling up.
8.Not take up unnecessary space when parking up for the night.
9.Not sit next to you revving the arse off their motor at some ridiculous hour while you are still trying to kip in a morning.
10.Get out of their cabs instead of sat on their arse if you are having bother with curtains in the wind or something.

Well depends if you mean all drivers or just truck/bus/coach drivers?

  1. Would always do this if driving a car if safe to do so (slip roads), to another truck if I could, but the m-way/dual carriageway is the main road so the joiner gives way! If safe will move over if not I won’t. As for obstructions the other way, that depends. The obstruction side is the give way side, but in many situations it is often a chicane, in which case it is usually best to let the larger vehicle come through. A lot depends on who gets to ‘their obstruction first’ or series of obstructions. What makes me smile is car drivers who when it is your give way thank you for letting them through. Ugh?

  2. Absolutely unless speed differential is massive or you show any indication that you support the pigs aka Sheffield Wednesday.

  3. Again a pre-requisite. Had some numpty from Harry bloody Lawson nearly took my off side wing off the other week north of Stirling 'cos the berk couldn’t judge the length of his truck. A good rule of thumb you are possibly ok when the truck you’ve overtaken is half way down by the n/s mirror and I move in when it is a third of the way down after awaiting the flash.

  4. My biggest hate. A reason I rarely move over for cars now if driving a wagon. Total pillocks and very selfish and dangerous. Only move over if absolutely nowt anywhere near behind - like 5 miles .

  5. Yes very helpful, particularly the near side rear of the trailer in tight yards.

  6. I plod.

  7. Certainly so long as you don’t get accused of DOWP as have experienced once (in a car) - berks.

  8. What no room for the table and chairs?

  9. More to do with non vehicle sympathy surely?

  10. Same as 5.
