What length of vehicle for class c?

Hi,
As I mentioned in another post, I failed my C for clipping a kerb.
Driving in town here is very very tight, and I took my test in a 10.4m DAF
Would I find it easier in something a bit shorter? If so, what is the minimum length that I can take a C test in?

Thanks again!

Unfortunately I don’t think that would help much. When I was training on Lynx’s it was suggested I try to understand better the room needed for the manoeuvres including cornering. I did my test in a B10B single decker bus for my PCV and thought I had got close to the kerb a few times even to the point I thought I’d fail over it but clearly it was OK.

When I came to my LGV C my problem was sticking too much to the middle of the road :astonished: It is a learning curve, and when you’ve got it you will feel stronger for doing it. In summary I would take more time and space, not to rush and keep checking your mirrors, they are things that will help you…

Now, having thought about that I’m going to go and whimper quietly in a corner about planning my C+E… :unamused: Good Luck BTW. I failed my LGV C 4 times, then passed my PCV then LGV spread out over 8 years.

Remember it’s not just about the overall length - the wheelbase is important.

But, with correct tuition, it should be possible to pass on a vehicle little over 10 metres.

Better luck next time, Pete

Thanks everyone,
It’s great as a newbie to get all this help.
What trucks do you use for your “C” Peter?
