What job title would be parcel carrier hgv class 2 depo to depo

Passed my class 2. I have previous experience driving 3.5t van for parcel carriers. I now have class 2 my ideal job in class 2 would be depo to depo work nights or early mornings .

What job title fits that role. Seems to be fairly difficult position to find in class 2. Found royal mail but requiring minimum 2 years experience

Basically just collecting from depos etc etc

Trunker? I did that for Tufnells years & years ago for a little while , it was a wagon & drag though , easy job , you didn’t even disconnect the drag at depots , depot staff did that .

I’m only guessing but Evri rigids seem to be active from their depot near us at an hour that suggests they are doing hub to hub overnights, perhaps days too.
On the other side of us is DHL which seem to have units and trailers in the yard, so once they have merged who knows how it will run!

Putting them 2 together I don’t suppose it will!

evri is not really depot to depot… you take them from the sorting warehouse to sub depot ready for final delivery in the morning. letting yourself into unmanned buildings

There are different ways and terms used depending on employers.

Hub system or direct depot to depot runs are both generally described as trunking. If you want to avoid hub system work then best to ask the question which specific type of work it is at the interview stage.

UPS for one did, probably still do, differentiate the two types of work as line haul or feeder.Line haul being old American parlance for trunking while the terms feeder and hub system have their origins in the air transport industry.UPS at least seeming to have then applied it to road operations. Also hearsay of workshop staff and management using the air maintenance term gone tech for a truck being VOR.
