What is your favourite road?

The road to hell :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Contraflow:
Any road that’s clogged up with traffic, preferably less than 5mph, so I can sit back, relax, enjoy the fanny on show, take in the scenery, and get paid exactly the same as if I was doing 50mph+. :sunglasses:

Best yet

BUT there is the road to the airport/holiday park (insert recreation here) for your jollies :sunglasses:

toby1234abc:
To start i will add Southampton to Ringwood via the New Forest with a bite to eat in Avonheath truckstop.
The road from the M1 to Bedford on the newish twin track and the road to Newark from the motorway.
Exeter to Penzance is a scenic drive.
The M5 exit to Bideford passing Tiverton.
The A75 from the M6 to Dumfries and Stranear.
Swindon to Oxford on the A420.
Most routes in Scotland.
The Valleys of Wales.
The Peak District and the Woodhead Pass.

[pedant alert… ]

That’s 7 defined and an undefined number of favourites. The question is ‘which is’, not ‘which are’…

[end pedant alert…]

Sorry, I’ll get out now. :sunglasses:

The road with my house on . Good bye tin box…well for a bit.

Tywyn to Dolgellau via Abergynolwyn, in a car. After that, Llanidloes to Machynlleth via Llyn Clywedog, Dylife and Forge, on a bike. To earn the money, any road they tell me to drive the truck.

PS great thread

This.

Anywhere in the Alps ,anywhere north of Glasgow inparticular Perth to Inverness and further north for me .

Maçon to Chambery via the Chat.

The road to nowhere.

Any where with an empty parking space away from the road after 6pm. Havent found one for years.

On the bike the A702 from Elvanfoot to Newton Stewart takes a lot of beating (stop off at Fussies in Thornhill), the A708 from Moffat to Selkirk is fun too (stop at St. Mary’s Loch)

In a truck the 66, 69 and 76 are ok in places

Hoofed it many moons ago on a climbing trip to camp in Tasch then chilled in Zermatt, scary scars on the valleys of mud slides and avalanches close to the road in that valley, and we complain about a 6 mile diversion

From the split at Orange to la jonquera. Early evening looking out over the sea and seeing the twinkly lights across the bay.

Not quite as good as driving the car home from the yard mind you…

This last friday, I drove the m4 welsh section to Llanelli, that was very pretty in places, I can imagine it gets better and better as you drive west.
