I know i have banged on about it in the past, how wonderful it is over the pond, but recently, kind of changed my mind, all i get is moody and surly staff at places to eat and drink,a bit like the ones we meet in UK MSA`s,maybe they got trained there.I know it is part of the job,but i get messed around tipping and loading, they make a meal out of it,by reporting to that office, which is shut at a certain time,or the clerks have gone on a break, then it is move the truck there,no,that is the wrong place,a few hours later get tipped.
I waited 8 hours at Johnson&Johnson in Paris, when the load was sat in the depot all day,but they loaded all other nations before looking at me.
Is it time to hang up the keys and put the furry clogs away, and what do i do with the wallet with a 6 foot long metal chain on it?
In the Metz area, the CRS Autoroute units pulled me over a few times, routine check, taken off in to the station, got pulled again,as it is a 80kmh speed limit for HGVs,they were not interested in that aspect, must have been a purge for few weeks.Or someone peed them off.
As we all know the camaradie went years ago,all firms now have overheads, the trucks get pushed to the limit, the lazy weekends on Cascais or Estoril beaches are a distant memory, and ample and decent running times seem to have gone too.Staff at depots seem to get more moody each time i ship out, unless it is my ugly face they dont like the look of.

Toby you really are leaving yourself wide open putting up phrases like that
It must be the work getting to you maybe just a few bad experiences at the same time.
personally I’m still enjoying it especially my last trip where i had a good weekend on the beer with some good lads from pulleyns, matthews and even stobarts in ashford then a good night out with browncow2 and never get rushed into anything, just the way it goes toby.
but your ugliness might be a contributing factor
I have to wear a bag over the head, which attracts attention from our friendly cousins is Euskadi and Mosses, when they stop me ,they stipulate,by law,i must have an open airway in the bag,and cut some eye peep holes,to avoid crashing the 44 tonner, other than that, they say carry on driver,or siempre directo camionista. Or blow in their bag.
