Help please.Looking at a tipping job-What is EPIC training Thank you
It’s training to write books or make films.
I believe “War of the worlds” was an EPIC.
tofer:
It’s a bit similar to CPC, its a card you have to hold to work on quarries.Edit for link
I suppose it could be this one EPIC Training …
Here it is. This has all you need to know about getting it
Yet another dam thing to spend money on.
I had this “training” last summer.
It’s nothing hard at all, Just common sense really.
A few boring videos, a “free” lunch and multiple choice questions at the end.
We did the mixers and tippers on our training day, Not that I would like to do mixers.
Earn Points In Contract.
Job description. Five runs a day or no pay.
Duties. Run people off the road AND don’t stop. If you stop to investigate the damage you caused then your sacked.
Experience. The lesser the better.
Must not have a general knowledge of drivers hours or the highway code. Hgv license is not essential as training in defending yourself at court is given.
Seen a few posts on here claiming that pay as you drop is the way to go but surely seeing a tipper driver on the move is enough to put that theory to bed.
i thought it was more about mixers than tippers just a boring day think we got a few more courses coming up soon especially where you have to train so much each year. got mine last year you are supposed to have these cards as from april the 9th to go in quarrys

Oh dear another knob to the slating tipper driver pile !!!
I did quarry work last summer never heard of EPIC until now ,good old TRUCKNET I say
funnily enough, I saw a job advertised lately asking for this.
What sort of price would you be looking at, or is it one of those things that tends to only be done through an employer?
Some of the drivers I work with have just had to take the EPIC training again as their Driver Skills Card had expired.
They had held it for 5 years and never been asked to produce it.
Mine expires 31/03/2013, I haven’t been asked for mine as yet either.
The course costs £80.00 for the day including lunch, my employer paid for mine
