Hello again, had a driving assessment yesterday for a bulk tipper job but they want me to go back tomorrow for a yard induction, what is that?
Probably all the h&s guff. Here’s the fire exit, here’s the canteen etc. Tip ■■■■ a here and ■■■■ b there
Its what they should be doing on your first day (or up to two weeks depending on training required) of PAID work, showing you where the bogs/oil/fuel are, how the steam cleaner works, dos and don’ts, paperwork etc.

Paid induction?
and there was me thinking it was to tell me what 3 feet was
The job is not an agency, they said if we take you on we will put you on a week’s training with a driver but also we have to see if its ok with insurance being a new driver,so anyhow had the driving test yesterday then they rang me today and said insurance is fine I am ok with your driving can you come in for an yard induction,
Looks like the job is yours to be honest!
As said, a yard induction is usually showing you how they want you to work when in the yard. Wash down, fuel up, location of oils, parking, paperwork etc. if your going in for this the jobs yours. My current employer did it backwards though. Did all the yard stuff then went for a drive then said you’ve got the job, thing is they wanted me to put my notice in at my previous job before any of that!
Thanks for the info, hope its a job at last had to many false promises every time they say we are ok but insurance wont let us, so this time insurance is ok and if the job is mine i get a scania G480 9 months old full automatic and the chaps in the office are very nice.
Congratulations on the new job fella

It is. An employer is required by law to ensure you’re up to health and safety standards and have been trained to use the equipment you’ll be using. This is done in what is commonly called an induction. Usually in the induction they’ll also take care of some paperwork (proof of your right to work in the UK, bank details, P45 etc) as well as show you company procedures.
Sounds like you may have landed on your feet. Enjoy it.
YAHOO I have a job at last, carefoots have decided to give me a shot start on Monday, so I will give them my all now for giving me a shot.

Well done on getting the job but be careful the more you give the more they will expect - without taking the ■■■■ I would suggest to start as you mean to go on!! (from personal experience)
