What if they ask me to work?

Hi All,

I have an induction tomorrow for my new job. They want me to be there for 9am (it’s a nightshift position) so it would obviously be illegal for them to have me there at 9 and then complete a nightshift too wouldn’t it? I don’t know my start hours or anything like that yet, just want to cover myself in case they ask which I know they won’t but you know… :smiley:

If they ask just apologise and tell them you wouldn’t be in a fit state to drive but you could start the next night. If they expect you to work the same night then they’re probably ■■■■ to work for anyway.

Can’t answer your question but the same thought haunts me every day when I turn up to my regular office job :smiley:

Wouldn’t it depend how long the induction would be, and also what time the night shift starts, as if they do want you to start tomorrow night at 22:00 for example and your induction lasts an hour for example (not likely) that’d work wouldn’t it? 11 hour rest.

More than likely you’ll start another day though mate :slight_smile:
