What hours can i work?

I am a part-time class 2 driver( sitting class 1 sep`08)

My main job working hrs are 4 days on (2 days ,2 nites) then 4 days off .total working hours 48 hrs working week.

I have 2x20 day holiday periods and 2x12 holiday periods per year.

Can I work during my normal 4 days off or is it better to wait until my holiday periods?

I would appreciate any help on this matter.

To book any LGV training I suggest the trainee-to-be, visits the training school, meets the head person(s) and has a quick look at the truck BEFORE parting with any money.

Using the site Search facility and putting the words TRAINING AND WHERE you wish to train may turn up some recommendations.

you can drive under EU regs on some of your days or nights off but there are rules to follow as it puts all the work you are doing that week into the mix.

THIS LINK MIGHT HELP

You’ll be looking a long time because in this instance the change from 2 days to 2 nights will no doubt include a 24 hour gap that can be taken as a reduced weekly rest, where appropriate.

Simple answer is probably one day one week and two the next. Depending on start finish times you may even be able to work 2 days each week, or most weeks, but more information is needed to say whether this is possible or not. Information such as start finish time, how the shift pattern regarding nights and days rolls through each week etc.

I make that at least 1 reduced weekly rest of 24 hours in every 7 days where one day finishes at 1800 and the next day does not start till 1800.

As this is a different reduced weekly rest day of 24 hours each week then i’m getting stumped

THIS NEXT BIT IS A GUESS - wait for an expert to come along for the definitive answer
I think you might still need to have at least one weekly rest period during any two week period of at least 45 hours

:bulb: might be better to look at it this way…
…this might help to formulate an answer :bulb:
day 1 0800-1800
day 2 0800-1800
(24 hour reduced weekly rest)
day 3 1800-0800
day 4 1800-0800
day 5 off
day 6 off
day 7 off
day 8 off
day 1 0800-1800
day 2 0800-1800
(24 hour reduced weekly rest)
day 3 1800-0800
day 4 1800-0800
day 5 off
day 6 off
day 7 off
day 8 off
