There is a lot of opinion out there about what hourly rate is deemed acceptable. I agree that more often than not drivers are probably accepting too little before jumping in the cab.
As a new driver is it worth while holding out for a +£10 an hour job for class 1 or is this a pointless endeavor. It does seem that more and more insurance companies are relaxing the 2 year experience requirement so more jobs are becoming available for newbs.
It is my ambition to continue as either a sole trader or limited company as this is what I have been doing since leaving university in other career pursuits.
I dislike agencies. Having poor previous experiences of hiring staff before coming to this industry. Now it seems many require you sign up to umbrella companies. To have 2 companies handle your money before you receive it seems crazy, where else in the world of work does this happen?!
Should it just be accepted that at the start of my driving career the initial pathway is agency and umbrella or is it worth holding out for a direct contract or employment.
As always thoughts and opinions are warmly welcomed.
