What happened to

What happened to ANC? Motorway network used to be full of them on nights but you never see them anymore.

Similarly, what happened to that company in Yorkshire area that had blue double deck 26 tonne rigids on FM12 chassis? Used to see loads of them but then they suddenly disappeared. Can’t remember name of them. Was wondering if they’d “morphed” into S.R.C.L. who seem to have suddenly popped up out of nowhere, also with 26 tonne deckers.

I see a lot of Fed Ex trucks with the old ANC number plates on.

ANC were bought out by FedEx a few years ago, on FedEx’s return to the UK.

ANC started out as a man with a van and eventually became the UK’s 4th or 5th largest parcel carrier. FedEx bought them out a few years ago but they won’t be retaining any of the old ANC trucks or personal plates when the fleet is eventually entirely replaced which is a bit of a shame as ANC’s heritage will be lost, always thought they could keep the ANC plates as a small nod to the history but big corporate businesses don’t think like that do they! .

Aye, White Rose Environmental, that was them. Seems to have gone pop or disappeared anyway. That SRCL outfit might have replaced them but they have haz boards on them, 2X 3891 iirc, no idea what that is.
