I’m not your model driver but I find it hard to find the old school attitudes that made our nation proud of its truckers. Its no wonder people dont want to join this pivotal industry anymore when most of the drivers I see have bugger all positive to say. I am only 45 but remember sheeting in the pooring rain, crappy gearboxes and gutless engines that couldn’t pull a half freighted trailer up a gentle slope. Now we have aircon, multi-speaker radio, slick gearboxes, rip roaring engines and no more dollys and sheets. Even legislation is keeping a lid on savage hours so whats the issue? Try multi-drop parcels and that will make them realise how cushty they have it. Aaaaargh!

Parcel work is a breeze once you’ve cracked the round!
Is it? 130 drops per day, plus collections and only 6 hrs to do them in! I’m glad I ain’t doing that for the foreseeable again.
Yes but there is hardly distance between the drops is there !!

How long you been doing the job? Yeah its easy enough its just the crap that goes with the job why people dont want to do it.See if you still think the same after ten or fifteen years and missed your kids growing up if you have them!

By my calculations thats one drop every 4.2 minutes ! and thats without the collections.
Ive done multi drop for sometime on vans, 7.5t and now rigid and i don’t know anyone except superman that could do 130 drops a day.
Maybe i need some of what you been takin.
