We all know about the M1 crash but what happened on the A1 south at the same time? I believe the road was closed for several hours.
I was coming up the A1 from Newark at about 11.45. An artic had ploughed straight into the back of a parked trailer in one of the laybys heading south. Looked very bad as I drove past. The A1 was shut and the tailbacks were about 5 miles long then. I heard nothing about it on the radio or tv at all.
Hope the driver and his family are ok
friday was a bad day for crashed the m1 was closed near the m18 then the a1 and 3 men were killed on the a10 after there car hit a truck

"Two lorries have crashed on A1 near East Markham, spilling
100 litres of diesel onto road.
The collision occurred at 1019 this morning, causing delays
on the Southbound carriageway.
The vehicles crashed between the junctions with the A614 and A638,
between Markham Moor and Tuxford.
Two people were taken to hospital by ambulance, injuries not known."
