What happened here

plugged my tom/ tom 1 into ■■■ lighter in truck.
light on charger lead came on but sat/ nav wouldnt turn on.
took it into halfords and they sent it away to tom/ tom and its just come back .
theyve put a new main board in it.
tried it in car and it works apart from the light on the chargers on but not on the sat nav.
so tried another lead and light on chargers on and the light on sat navs on.

so i believe theres something dicky with the ■■■ lighter in that truck.
but what i dont understand is hows the light on the charger still on, surely the 1 st thing it should blow is the fuse in the charger shouldnt it :question:

I am sure it goes something like this, the charger is of the type that sence’s the voltage so maybe it’s that part of the charger that is faulty ie not sensing it’s in a 24v socket and putting the voltage into the tomtom and bang in this case the fuse wont blow because it’s the control curcit thats gone and not the socket in the wagon.
