So I’m a multidrop driver in a 10t rigid combination of pallets and loose boxes atm I’m sailing about with a high pallet heavy at bottom and lighter hand towels etc at top and just waiting on opening the doors to find it’s tipped! Happens all the time as pallets always stacked high and no straps. Was curious if anyone has ever gone to the bother of making a video of inside lorry while driving around?
When you turn right stuff moves to the left
When you turn left stuff moves to the right
When you brake hard stuff moves forward
When you accelerate hard stuff moves backwards
The faster you do it the more it moves !!
Slow down and strap it !!

Pallets stacked high with no straps?..and it slipped
Well, who would have thought it
lay it down before you start , that way you wont damage anything when it goes over
forward thinking there see
Yes pallets stacked high! And no straps! I’ll post a pic later lorry loaded every night by warehouse I get in the morning open back doors and think ■■■■ then every time I open back doors expect to see load tipped!

I think you may just find that the warehouse aren’t legally responsible for load security. That’ll be you btw. When a pallet eventually comes through the curtains (and it will) it won’t be the warehouse bods sleeping in a room with stripey windows. Again that’ll be you.
Strap the load before you leave. You’re probably hourly paid, so you’re not doing it for free!
Oh, before I forget; slow down a bit too.

I suppose if you’re not happy with it you could always do your job and secure the load
A wise man once explained this to me but its all about friction coefficient (possible made up word).
Anyway a load whatever it is will have some grip on the bed or whatever its on top of, increasing this grip and preventing movement in as many directions possible will help avoid loads to move.
Now theres ways to do this from ropes to chains and other methods of load entrapment but in the end the physics involved in movement or breaking of inertia are the same, just some are more tricky to stop.
In your case perhaps methods of restraining the load can be looked into with those that have the ■■■■■ strings, this well help reduce damage and the associated dangers of load shift not to mention the stuff falling on top of you when opening the doors.
If your driving around in a curtain sided vehicle you may want to do this asap.
Its at this point I realise this post is extremely boring, sorry about that…
Or just drive more carefully and hope every other road user does as well.
They should put load security on the cpc course oh hang on they do lol

No need for a pic mate, I’ve seen numerous loads that have no straps. (in fact usually before I strap them )
Tip: …next time in morning and after you have thought ’ ■■■■ '… strap it, you’ll be amazed at the difference, just an idea like
hahaha this has to be one of the better attempts at trolling this year.
or the DCPC and training providers really do need a shake.
Think title should be ’ What goes on UP there '[emoji6]
Spoon feeding requirements gets more and more common.
Must be Friday I’m extra cynical !

bring it back to let them re-load it
Right this appears to have gone from me asking a general question about what the items wobbling about inside lorry looks like to a load of cowboys deciding to have a dig at me! The lorry is a box type so load of ■■■■■■■ toilet rolls ain’t gonna come flying out the sides if I was driving a curtain side it would be strapped. I certainly don’t need spoon fed I am trying to iron out issues with my boss I have spoke to them about the height of pallets and also the provision of some straps although I’m in a different lorry everyday sometimes there’s a strap or two in the cab other times there is not.
Many companies arse things about this way I’m just doing the job and gaining experience don’t appreciate the cocky digs.
I had a large pallet of malt sacks. I put two ratchet straps over it and it still went over. Was not impressed having to fix that mess.
Us ‘Cowboys’ are just stating the obvious, if it’s Bog Rolls in a box, they ain’t gonna fall out the sides, but they might clout you on the head when you open the door, if you can’t strap or restrain them- SLOW DOWN, don’t do racing starts & stops, don’t power slide around corners & bends with the tyres screeching.
Common Sense really,.
Try driving with a cup of coffee on the dash & don’t spill it, that’s how gently you should be driving.
As you go round a right hand bend, you can feel the force pushing you to the left, (visa versa) that’s what’s happening in the back, when you break, you can feel the braking force, so you brace yourself to stop yourself from folding over the steering wheel, that’s what’s happening in the back. So the faster you go, the more pronounced the force, hence you end up picking up every load.
We have people at our place who are forever picking up ‘Shot Loads’ they look at me with Puppy Dog Eyes, looking all sad & forlorn hoping that I’m going to offer to help them-
No Way Josè, you dropped it, you pick it up ! Lol.

When I did multidrop in a box I was given a sprung bar that was wedged between the sides of the box behind the last pallets. Ten seconds to wedge/unwedge but saved me picking up spilt loads. Can’t imagine they’re that expensive. Worth asking for.

Just a suggestion but how your replies where tempered is based on your opening post, some good advice has been given and if you dont like what you read then perhaps you should look at a bit more info on initial posts as load safety is taken very seriously in this game.
As your new to the job perhaps it may be worth suggesting to your boss that a few straps are included with each vehicle, bit of a wild / crazy suggestion I know but even one to strap across the back may help so you and others dont risk injury when opening the back doors.
As far as videos go think theres a few on youtube by the user ‘tribbing’, just search for them on you tube as they are quite enlightening to how motion affects ones load.
Or get a job delivering loft roll - lovely soft fluffy stuff.
Which I still strap down anyway, even when told that none of the other drivers do.
My licence…
