what gets my goat more than anything is our stupid system of having to book 8.5 hrs to get 10 hrs gar pay
i.e you go out and do the run theyve given you that day and you get back to yard after 6 hrs, you then halve to sit in canteen for 2.5 hrs doing sweet f.a until youve done 8,5 hrs to get 10 hrs pay.
what the point
, youre not doing f.a, your not going to do f.a, your just wasting 2.5 hrs of your life
youve done the job, theres no other runs left, so let the driver go home , or else find them something to do.madnes and petty
well my bug bear and its only a little one on a 2 lane motorway or DC a slow moving vehcile be it a car or truck doing about 40mph with about 4 cars behind it that wont over take said slow vehcile especially if im fully freighted and its busy
Car drivers who think that my braking zone is an invitation for them to use that bit of road, so so so so so nearly wiped out a car that pulled over right infront of me coming up to a roundabout.
Snudger:
I wouldnât âblockâ the lane for 200 yards let alone 800 and agree that that would be stupid, but if after half a dozen cars fly by to â â â â in to the front of the queue in this situation then I will move over to prevent others from doing so
And therein lies the problem. The âqueueâ only exists because of drivers who wonât use the open and available lane to itâs maximum and thereby turn a, for example, 3 mile closure into a 4 mile one and remove a mile of perfectly usable road from the already congested network. Itâs not a queue, it is simply a line of vehicles whose drivers havenât got the sense or desire to make full use of the available road and making the tailback far longer than it need be. If you want to move over well before the designated merge point, which is at the cones and not 200 metres before them, then that is your free choice but why should everyone else then have to do as you do.
If the people who laid out the roadworks wanted you in one lane 800 metres earlier they would have put the merge point there and not where they did. Anyone who does that blocking thing should be fined and receive penalty points for driving without reasonable consideration for other road users.
We have all been in roadworkâs, the traffic going through the roadworkâs can only go through as quick as the lead vehicle, if the vehicles were to merge earlier, (in my opinion its mainly car drivers not wanting to get stuck behind a truck) and reduce speed accordingly instead of waiting to the last minute then realising there is no gap then the driver in the left lane has to stop/slow down. Itâs called being a considerate driver to get in earlier, I am sick to death of the attitude some drivers; [zb] you jack Iâm OK. Thatâs whatâs wrong with society today, people are just inconsiderate, and you just have to look at this thread to see what bad behaviour shown by others which winds people up! Treat people how you want to be treated, its obvious by Rob Kâs attitude he wants to be treated like a [zb] because thatâs how treats other users who do not follow his views. We are all entitled to our opinion! Oh and another thing that gets my goat, spelling on here is abysmal
The auto-censor got both of those words as soon as you tried to use them. When it does that, itâs your clue that the word isnât allowed.
Dodging the auto-censor by using asterisks and other methods isnât allowed, so PLEASE read forum rule 3 (which youâve already agreed to) and then PLEASE donât do it again. dd.

Shift changes, why does it take em so bloody long, or when the forkie goes for his tea break whilst in the middle of loading/unloading when you need to get up the road.LOL, Let me just take a moment as a forkie to apologise for my actions!

I
ve done that plenty of times before but honestly? only to a driver (and their arent many of these tyes) who comes in to be tipped/loaded and he tells you how to do your job! Now, i aint blowin my own trumpet but i
m a [zb]hot FLT driver who is fast paced but very sensible and safe. And when youve got lorry drivers stood in the back of the trailers, telling you how to load his wagon, when surely, my 10 years of experience is enough for me to load a trailer how ever the [zb] i wanna. Thats bound to tickle a few nerves!![]()

guys like this, generally (out of experience) hate there jobs and wanna make everyones else job harder, so, i can always make his job harder tooâŚby going on my 30mins breakâŚmaybe even stretching it out to 40 mins
)
It is the drivers responsibility to make sure his or her truck is loaded safely & none of the axles are overloaded so stop being a complete prick & just load it as the driver wishes. Get off your high horse you jack â â â

Not really. that would be a driver who isnât really reading the road and using that information to make full use of available lanes thereby not creating longer queues than necessary. It is being a considerate driver to leave a gap when you are in the open lane so the vehicles in the lane which is closing can merge at the clearly defined point instead of closing the gap up because you have decided they have jumped an imaginary queue.
I like to drive faster then 40mph on alot of sc if i think its safe to do so. I hate it when truck drivers stick dead on 40 or just under with a massive cue behind them & then drive on the limit when they reach abit of dual so you cant get past only to slow down to 40 again. Drivers like this must get turned on noing that everyones stuck behind them. Must be some sort of power trip!!! Get a life & if your going to stick to the speed on a sc then stick to the speed on a dual so we can overtake . Muppets

A massive cue would surely be an abnormal load which is probably why they are doing 40.

Are you for real? Iâve spotted at least 14 spelling and grammar errors with your own post. Do you know how to spell the word âhypocriteâ ?

Hi Fileep,
You might not know this, but weâve had a debate about spelling.
It was decided that, if itâs understandable, then itâs OK.
Having had to edit your posts more than once for bad language, Iâd suggest that you think about your own use of appropriate language before you begin to think about the way that people spell.
Fair point on the grammar, but I return to my original remark with Rob K, he shoots people down for having a different opinion to that of his own. Again, inconsiderate and arrogant. Healthy debate is fine, but saying things like you should be banned from driving for not agreeing with him! How old are you 5? I can take constructive criticism, I am far from perfect. I am however a considerate human being and believe in treating others how I like to be treated.

I think you need to learn how to read. Nowhere did I say he say should be banned for not agreeing with me. I said he should be banned for blocking a lane as what he is doing is selfish, dangerous, inconsiderate and illegal to boot, and I stand by that. If that makes me âinconsiderate and arrogantâ in your opinion then so be it; frankly I do not care. You have 3 choices :
- Reply to me giving a reasoned argument why I am wrong and why the driver is not doing anything illegal/dangerous etc
- Accept that I have a different opinion to your own, learn to deal with it and move on
- Click on the X in top right corner of your screen and find a site that has members with views akin to your own.

dont worry, robk has become a very bitter and twisted individual since his SUPER STAR status got shot too pieces with that episode of getting lost on some docks, still funny as â â â â now,SUPERSTAR TRUCKER my arse
HELL NEVER BE ALLOWED TO FORGET THAT
âFrankly you do not careâ yet you give me three choices? I obviously hit a raw nerve! A bit of a rant to say you donât care for my opinion , very amusing. I shall choose to do what I want without any input from you. And I stand by my previous opinion, you re-inforce this everytime you post on here.

Hippokryte?
Oh and Norfolk gets my goat, they have lots of fields there for him.

Why are you telling me stuff that I already know? Please, if you want to tell me Iâm the biggest [zb] youâve ever come across then get on with it so you can get it out of your system and make you feel better. I really donât have time for this namby-pamby tiptoeing around, touchy-feely BS. If I donât like something I hear or read then Iâll say so and say why, and thatâs exactly what I did earlier in this thread.
Once again, I refer you to your three choices in my previous reply to you.

I got flashed a few weeks ago at 48 on a single carriageway. I assumed (wrongly) that gatsoâs donât detect differences in vehicle size. It is clear to me now that they (some at least, and you canât tell the difference at a glance) do. As a result iâm now one of the aformentioned âmuppetsâ who sits at 40 all the way.
I can honestly tell you it isnât a power trip or a turn on. Itâs just a much more relaxing drive not having to worry about where a speed camera might be hiding, and I just sleep much better at night when iâm not waiting for a letter to drop through the door.
It is about licence preservation, nothing more. And to be honest, what is the rush?
