I if you were able to have your say & input on what should be available in a truckstop what would you have ? I ask this as some prime development land has come up in my area & the location would be ideal for a truckstop for trucks using the port of fishguard, I am hoping to get a meeting with the site owners & a local developer & business man who is keen on the idea , all subject to planning etc…
So who better to ask than drivers themselves, sensible ideas if that’s possible as I doubt very much a ■■■■■ house would be allowed, the site is approximately 2.1 acres with the potential of more available land , along side the main a40 towards fishguard ,
As a basic requirement, plenty of secure parking, clean toilets and showers. As an extra, decent food at reasonable price as opposed to poor food at dear prices.
A small shop for necessities would be handy - toothpaste, milk, tons etc would be handy.
As for pricing, if you could get it around the £10-12 mark, would be ideal. I’m lucky in that I get paid parking as well as night out money, but if I didn’t, I’d still rather stop in this sort of place and pay a few quid to have access to bogs n basins, rather than some rancid lay by.

Some of the new MSA’s are like a labyrinth to get in and out of.
First and foremost better facilities for lady truck drivers. Some truckstops do not even have ladies showers and the lady truck drivers have to use the ones in the gents. I am helping a survey for these type of facilities or lack of, so please get in touch with me if you would like to see more for our lady truckers. Liz from Professional Lady Drivers Worldwide Club.
Well this topic is a bit slow to get going , 130+ views & only 5 posts , maybe I should of put stobart in the title somewhere…
Decent food fairly priced, clean facilities, fridge parking at the back (possibly leccy hookup on certain bays for an slightly higher fee), spaces for unit only parking, decent security. Dont think you really need anything else. Or atleast these are the ideas I had if I came into some extra dosh and could get a decent plot of land.
Wish you all the best, more truckstops are needed up and down the country.
WiFi.
Fuel.
Separate parking for fridges.
Healthier food menu.
CCTV.
Heavy fines for people ■■■■■■■ anywhere other than the 24hr accessible toilets.

Yoda would say; “patience you must have young one”.
I reckon at least three pages once someone plays the East European race card and the thread gently derails into Mussolinis greatest mistakes before grinding to a halt with “what the hell have the Romans ever done for us?”
This is the site for those that are interested, its been derelict for years but was on fire on Sunday & is now being demolished on grounds of safety … a good buy for the size of land …
well the first options a no no lol
proper laned out and equally spaced out parking spots wide enough so you dont get some idiot wiping your mirrors out as they move off before you can get out of bed and catch them
an overnight reasonably priced laundry service so you can get a few bits washed and ironed ready for you in morn before you set off
a bit of a packed lunch type thing that you pay for when you order and collect fresh before you go
Decent food at reasonable prices. Fuel at the same price as supermarkets, instead of inflated prices.
No Rat’s, with a good clean park for heavy vehicles and more security.
Here’s a thought , there’s 42520 active members on this site if each person put £30 that would be £1.275600m enough to buy & develop the site with everybody a share holder in a truckstop with the facilities they want , could be the start of many ! Run by drivers for drivers, Just a thought …

And just to throw it out there if we all put in £100 to the trucker community bank account , that’s about £4.25m what’s the interest worth on that in the right account ?! …

Me too! Look up Nobus truckstop in Asten and build a replica. That’d do nicely. NO patronising pictures of American trucks on the walls either
