Driving a 26 tonner ( no tail lift work )
Average 55 hours a week
20 days annual leave
1 night away a week
General haulage
£35,000 salary what’s think people
What do you think? Surely if you’re considering it or that’s what you’re doing and earn that matters more than the opinions of random people on the internet?
Seems reasonable to ask whether or not its a typical rate for the job, dependent on the area of course. It wouldn
t be sensible to take or refuse a job on a stranger`s say-so though.
Of course I wouldn’t take the job on the so say of (so say random people) thought fellow truck drivers were a bit more than random though.
But just wanted to see if the salary matches the sort of work I would be doing .
With the so say increase in drivers salaries just asking if it’s seems decent .
Seems like lately if you just ask a question on here there is an element of attack ( strong word couldn’t think of anything else ) on the poster.

Exactly so.
I would check it`s only 5 days a week, Mon/Fri, and assume that 55hrs is work, so adding breaks, maybe 12 or 13hrs actually on the job.
It’s worth covering your ■■■■ and asking “If I’m working 55 hours on average every week, you’re not going to be giving me WTD infringements after a card download are you?” I’ve seen that at one company at least…
And get the “salary” issue clearly defined: being salaried means you get the same money even if you do a lot more hours than 55.
And wages/salary is very area-dependent, £35k would be good for the North-east but probably average for the South-east

I wouldn’t work for £12ph.
What’s the cab like for sleeping in a 26T? Or is it hotels paid for? Parking paid for?
I’d never work for “salary” again
