In much the same way as you would rather not do a certain collection, is it okay if the bus driver knows the passenger is a ■■■■■■■ knobhead and does not want him / her / it on the bus? 
I love it when I pull into a yard, wind down the window, and am greeted with the words “open your curtain”. I never would have thought of doing that, it makes my job so much easier.
I hate it when I’m not the last person back in the yard on Friday. For the last 3 weeks I’ve been last (or thereabouts) in and it puts me in a brilliant mood, makes me feel so appreciated.

Doesn’t really bother me if they are quick about it.
I like the fact that within reason I do what I want at work, and when the Chemical Brothers, Prodigy etc CD is inserted I can have it as loud as I like 
I like being up and about during the wee hours in the summer, 3-4 am the sky goes that amazing topaz blue in the east then the big fireball appears. Best time of the day, no question.
One of the best bits is; one drop only so when tapping the side of the tank it goes from thud to bong, that sound means there’s only one destination, back to base and off home.
Dozens of plus points about the job but thats the one that stands out as different to other jobs.
Two dislikes, one is the vehicles, under engine specced, which one can cope with, but coupled to auto boxes, arsetronic in mine to maximise the lack of lorry ‘driving’ pleasure.
Secondly steering wheel attendants who leave the vehicle in a filthy or crap state after they’ve used it when i’m off shift.
Dislikes: same as Juddian with auto boxes. Pain in the derriere. And spending half an hour every time I turn the key turning off all the bells, whistles, and buzzers before releasing the handbrake. Ever driven a new DAF in the snow? Dashboard lights up like a christmas tree and the noises are like a Star Wars soundtrack. Anything important, like low oil, will be lost in the morass.
Likes: Sun rise or set. Especially looking over the Rhone valley at the Alps 100km away illuminated on a clear day. Not for all, but a loading list of over a dozen p-ups with a friendly restaurant in the middle of `em. Job sorted!
I dislike most of the people I work with and having to constantly do toolbox talks with someone who has never sat in a lorry and got the job because he couldn’t do the traffic planner job he was meant to do

Depot is on my doorstep/5 minutes drive away.
Straight forward work/general haulage, not too many dramas.
Generally left alone to get in with it.
Nice one yesterday morning, the empty M42 @ 04.30am after I nighted out in Tamworth, looked back as I was joining the M6 & there was not a soul behind me, felt like I was the last to leave & should have switched the lights out. [emoji12]

Running out of Adblu, honestly, management don’t monitor the usage & we’ve run out twice in the last 6 months, I’ve started telling the office how much is left now. MUPPETS !
I’ve even tried to Eduk’ate 'Em that these new Fangled Lorries need Adblu as much as they need Diesel. DURRRRRRRRR !
Likes - easy clean work, not rushed, not bothered by management, most fridays are P.O.E.T.S day.

Dislikes…Turning up, doing the job, repeat the rest of the week!
The sunrise and sunsets in the summer are definitely one of the likes.
And the fact that when i finish my shift,or week, breath that sigh of relief head home and appreciate that ive got a job i enjoy and can feed and take care of my 2 kids.
Dislikes, snow, traffic for no apparent reason, the odd billy ■■■■■■■■ that comes along and slags off every truck and driver thats ever graced a British road…
