What do you drive?

My regular wagon is an '07 plate MAN TGA twinsteer  on contract from hill hire,if mine is on service I get either an '56 DAF  or if im really lucky i get an '04 volvo FM9 drawbar :frowning: ,only problem with the volvo’s is i keep forgetting to use the clutch and then wonder why they judder like hell when i pull up

from this

to this

i prefer the premium over the fh

At the moment an 07 MAN XXL. Nicely specced with fridge, microwave, heated seats, aircon etc

Only thing i would change is the engine 440 is a bit sluggish, but tops 9.5mpg most months so gaffer likes em!!!

Before this Volvo’s, every type of 6x2 unit they had to offer i’ve had, from flat top FM to XL Globy. I do like a nice VOLVO.

lgamston:
seen 1 of them freightliner wagons a few week back near the doncaster freight terminal

yep im always in and out of doony railport as it belongs to f/liner now.

we do a lot out of ama rawmarsh in rotherham in fact theres 4 loading there in the morning.

As of tomorrow a 02 plate DAF LF on the London run everyday, thank god no more multi drop.

MAN tga 26 440 6x4 day cab manual with comfort shift pulling an ejector trailer.

I think it looks pretty good dirty too, at least until some tossa draws a map in the dirt on the door when you ask for directions :imp:

Hi y’all my 1st post so go easy with me

I drive a '96 DAF 85 330 4x2(with Eaton twin splitter) ex parcel force tractor unit thats been stretched and had a skip loader fitted…and working at 17tons it pulls rather well to say the least!!

There cant be many skip lorries around with a 330 motor and a sleeper cab!

Hiya ade067… welcome to Trucknet mate…

A new Volvo FM9 340 8x4 mixer. A good truck for the job pity about the drum :exclamation: :exclamation: :imp: . Still it’s better than the Merc 3235 8X4 i drove and not even going to mention the Atego,s  :frowning:

I DRIVE A BLUE N RED B REG VOLVO F12 380 6X2 TAG AXLE UNIT WITH A TRI AXLE FLAT ON CAST IRON PIPE DELIVERIES AND IT PULLS LIKE A TRAIN(AND NO LIMITER)

I drive a v reg Renault 385 and im proud of it

Not many truckers would be but it beats my old erf ec11 hands down

that i used to drive for nightfreight

From being the ā€˜casual’ driver, to the full time ā€˜spare’ driver, I’ve now at last got my own wagon  . I drive a Scania 124 420 topliner, in the colours of Andrew Wishart & Sons  .

I’ve also driven the hired in 430 big cabbed Stralis’s, the LHD Volvo FH12 420 XL Gobstoppers and the FM9 250 Gobstopper 18tonner.

Of the 3, I prefer the Volvo FH12 XL Gobstopper. The Stralis is a very nice truck but it says Iveco on the front, and the Euro series has put me right off that make, so I’ll reserve judgement till they have done some work. The Scanny is OK, but it is designed as a LHD and there just isnt enough foot room in the RHD version. I can’t sit in it for 4.5 hrs driving, without getting cramp in my left leg :frowning: .

I drive a Freightliner Columbia around the highways of Arizona and California hauling a 9500 gallon (38000litres…■■) petrol tanker.

It has a 475hp Mercedes Benz engine and a Roadranger/Fuller 'box, its nice to have at least a half decent European engine, if it has to be an American cab.
