AS some of you know i’ve been screwed on a deal i did with a Daf and had to cancel my booking for a new xf105.Now am looking around from a new lorry.So what do you drive and if you wanted to change it what would you change to and why ?
Scania or MAN, EGR to euro 4 and will probably research the technology forward to cover euro 5 in time if not now, after that they should have come up with hybrid technology for future reduced emissions standards, so you don’t have to mess about with ad blue. All new trucks are decent, why faff about if you don’t have to?
I drive/own a 2001 “flying” Foden Alpha XL 6x2 with a 440hp ■■■■■■■ M11,she does my job alright as my first cheap start up truck working at the bulk stone/tarmac out of the local quarries.
If I was looking at a new truck I would fancy an Iveco Stralis active time but specced with the 480hp cursor 13 and not the “baby” 430 cursor 10. I can’t for the life of me work out why Iveco wont let you order it this way. Second choice would probably be a Volvo FM Globbey with the new 480 DXI and i-shift.
