What did you say?

Am guessing many have been in the situation before when working for an agency and you have a job interview lined up. What did you say to agency? For example , if they had given you ex amount of guaranteed work and were expecting you to turn up.

Did you tell them about interview or just phone in sick? Obviously some would be fine and some not and you cant tell them to ■■ off as obviously it wont go down too well. Also you dont want to burn you’re bridges

Cheers

“Something has come up, and I can’t make it,sorry.”

If it’s a pre arranged booking I’d just give as much notice as possible stating that I wasn’t available that day. No reason - just unavailable.

I always thought one of the advantages of agency work was meant to be your right to pick and choose when you work?

Edited to add - I’m not agency but that would be my plan of action.

What he said. But don’t drop them in it at the last moment if you can possibly avoid it, especially if they’ve looked after you OK so far.

I’d actually be tempted to tell them you’ve got an interview, unless it’s with someone you’ve worked for through them. If you’re a good driver and they’ve done well out of you, might sharpen their minds to keep you busy with decent assignments if they want to hang on to you.

Some take the hump m8 and wont give you anymore shifts. Ruthless they are. Some are ok.

I havent passed Class C yet but have worked for agencies before doing other work. Just wondering what excuses Drivers have used and how it has affected them

Just say you can’t work that day. If they want to give you a job, tell the agency you’re no longer available and thank them for the work they gave you. It’s only polite and might help if you need to go back. Even if you don’t go back it’s always nice to not be a douche.

If they’ve got you booked up on a regular job give them a week or two notice.

Been a driver, TM and recruitment consultant in my time so I’ve heard most of them. And, if I’m honest, recycled a few when it suited me to!

I must be a right knob, I drag myself to work sideways when I really am sick and I (proof I’m a knob) just can’t lie about going for another job by pulling a sickie, I just feel guilty
Now if I can get a days holiday, guilt trip avoided

If its a big customer like a supermarket or parcel mob …

Dont tell agency anything !

Bang in 8 hours on the timesheet , then you will be paid for interview !!

Remember , its only naughty …

If you get caught .

And if u do … Its a genuine mistake . my badz . soz m8 . .
