What did you learn this week? W/E 29/9/07

I learnt what happens to dead Jumbo 747’s…
They get chopped into little pieces by a Slew with a Ginormous claw, loaded into a bulker and taken to a Scrapper at Erith…

Ali being light meant a 7.5T payload so with a Jumbo weighing 90 Tonnes equals…um…Lots of Loads.

At least thats what happened to the one at Kemble…Used to belong to Minardi, was up for sale for £1.5 Million but no takers…Needing 4 engines at 2 Million a pop probably had a bearing on that…

Oh,and I can now claim to have sat in the Pilots Seat of a 747… :sunglasses:

The Cockpit was 50 Metres from the Fuselage at the time so maybe not such a big deal…

The comment of “Come off at the A43 from the M1 and you’ll be in Coventry in no time…” It took 90 minutes to reach Weedon this afternoon because of J16-18  :unamused: :unamused: :open_mouth:

Ahh well. Overtime…

I learnt never to upset women and that taxi drivers are all merchant bankers :imp:

Today I learn’t that Renault 7.5t’s have electric windows, bouncy seats, cruise control, loadsa mirrors :open_mouth:    and the tacho reads 70 when the gps reckons (via 12 satellites!) I’m actually only doing 64mph :unamused: :unamused:

And the passenger side window opens with sliding forwards and back
