What did ya get for Presents?

…and breathe.

$500, a ■■■■ up,roast smoked chicken/smoked salmon meal in the yard and in January an all inclusive night out to a dinner theatre wae the OH in the city. Had a night out to a casino in November for all inc OHs for thanks for an accident free year.

Full 13th month pay cheque and a Christmas bonus profit share on top; most indeed goes to her majesty’s when it lands on this shore. Lovely stuff.

We got a Christmas Party, meal & Disco, (I wouldn’t have given the dog the dinner [emoji57]) they had a raffle which I lost, so got given 4 small (dented) cans of Cider (off a damaged pallet) in consolation, 2 bottles of cheap Prosceco as I was leaving on Christmas Eve & the best one was a card from the MD & his Wife who very rarely speak to the drivers, probably don’t even know most of our names [emoji57].
Oh & in true Humbug Spirit, we got made to wait until 2 o’clock on Xmas Eve for the last man to get back !

I got a lovely calender with horses and trains and planes and wagons and some other stuff on it probably. I’m a lucky lucky boy.

Our company has 6 drivers, we got a cardboard box of biscuits from M&S, not bad when the gaffa and his wife are multi millionaires and don’t mind bragging how much their worth,

I’d rather have nothing if I’m honest, its less insulting.

Years ago I worked in a big sawmill and we always got a bonus of some sort. For example a decent Christmas tree or a fresh turkey. One year we got a card with a £50 M&S voucher. Great, most of us thought, but some food and wine maybe or a present for the wife.

A unionised mouthpiece on the other hand, didn’t think it was good enough. He marched up to the office and flung the card on the desk. “If that’s all you can give us, then don’t ■■■■■■■ bother”.

The boss thought long and hard about it and the following year we got jacks hit.

we got nowt for breaking our backs in getting there asses out of the [zb] most of the time so it’s been decided amongst the drivers that we will no longer be doing 15 hour shifts and we will be taking a minimum of 11 hours off each night regardless of booking times. let the late loads and complaining customers begin.

Nice to see drivers standing up for themselves and sticking together for a change, a rare occurence today in the job.

Surprised you haven’t had somebody on saying ‘‘You should be thankful you have a job, so you should ■■■■ it up’’ :unamused:

Dear colleagues,

As I reflect on what’s been achieved over the course of the past year, I would very much like to thank each and everyone of you for the hard work and dedication you’ve put towards driving the growth of the business, and for welcoming me as part of the team. 2015 has been a year of changes and challenges and now, as we put into place the new business structure, I look forward to working with you all in the new year and developing new opportunities for both you and the company.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Alex Laffey CEO Eddie Stobart

Is this what your fancy Christmas card says in it Happysack? And did you get a nice mug too?

Do people actually believe this pile of ■■■■■■■■?

Thanks m8 just looking forward to moving on

Talking of end of year letters.
We got one last year sent up from our main depot.
I collected it expecting the… ‘Thanks for your efforts lads’ …etc etc., maybe with a Christmas card enclosed.
No chance, it was some memo crap, about some rule or another, that was not being adhered, not one mention of time of year etc, and the last paragraph was ‘‘If you do not
co operate with xxxx… disciplinary action will be taken’’
IT WAS CHRISTMAS you ■■■■ s ffs. :unamused:

I got £10 Argos voucher, early finish and a crimbo card signed by all the planners.

Missus got me and the lad a PS4 with star wars battlefront. I’m crap at it though so spent most of crimbo getting blown up by young kids.

[That reads very wrong but purely accidental honest]

I got this for Xmas, but can’t work out why I need an OCK mug? :open_mouth:

Or why the handle is painted black…

I got a £150 bonus and off from 23rd to 4th jan
