:open_mouth:

If it absolutely has to be 1980’s then Tears For Fears Shout,Level 42 Something about You,Curiosity Killed the Cat Misfit has to beat that.

But for every 80’s one I can think of a lot more 1970’s ones.

Varying from Ska-Reggae Pioneers Sweet Inspiration,Desmond Dekker You Can Get It,Bob Marley Concrete Jungle and Jammin.

Soul/disco such as Staples Singers If you’re Ready.George McCrea It’s Been So Long etc.Stevie Wonder Higher Ground.Smokey Robinson and the Miracles Tears of a Clown.Jackson 5 Doctor my Eyes.

Then numerous assorted class acts like Slade Alive version of Hear me Calling and the ballad How Does it Feel.Doobie Brothers Long Train Running.ELO Turn to Stone.Super Tramp Long Way Home.Eagles Hotel California and Desperado.Lynrd Skynrd Freebird.Steely Dan FM.Pink Floyd Us and Them.Bee Gees Spirits Having Flown for just a few of that unbeatable decade.

Not a bad Playlist there CF.

I couldn’t pick a favourite list, depending on my mood I like different things, but it has to have soul and by soul I mean sung from the tips of the toes with eyes closed, oblivious to everything but the song.

I grew up on 60s and 70s stuff, Motown/The Beatles/Beach Boys/Stones/Kinks/Steeley Dan/ELO/Eagles/Queen etc that my parents listened to and then I got into Punk, then Northern Soul and Ska, then the New Romantic stuff and 80s soul and rap and then I went to Ibiza in 1988 and got into the rave scene in a big way. Then came Blur/Oasis/The Verve/Keane etc and I kind of stopped listening to the new stuff.

I have a few things I won’t listen to, thrash metal, country and the manufactured crap plastic house music that has been around since the late 90s.

Totally pointless fact of the day ;Limahl ,the lead singer of Kajagoogoo, is Christopher Hamil, or Hamil spelt backwards, in not exactly the right way.

Rumours Fleetwood mac …played for a month as only tape I had in the truck ,skynyrd early stuff ,Molly hatchet …fall of the peacemakers and off course One last ride. CCR…anything especially fortunate son. The Outlaws …green grass and high tides… Neil young early stuff …cinnamon girl, hey hey my my…when you dance I can really love…Mr soul etc. Motorhead …we are the roadcrew era stuff.(ace of spades album). CSNY …Ohio. Jefferson airplane …white rabbit etc (when the acid queen was at her best) overall late 60s 70s 80s rock guitar .

Stevie Nicks ; Has anyone ever written anything for you .
Haunting lyrics ,have a listen to this song .

OMD Enola Gay is about the Usa war plane dropping a nuclear bomb in Japan .

Morrissey , Everyday is like a Sunday.
The lyrics of this beach side town that they forgot to bomb and share some greasy tea with me, sums up the dump that is the UK.

Suedehead by Morrissey .

Fiction Factory with Feels like heaven .
Love this song .

Michael Jackson with Dirty Diana, and Man in the mirror, and Heal the world or the Earthsong .

Bronski Beat Smalltown boy , and Bronski Beat also did a good cover of I feel love .

Out by Hendrix or Robert Johnson floats me boat at the moment.

Listen to all sorts but among my favourites are:
This is the one, Stone Roses. Saw them earlier this year in Dublin fantastic night out.

Pressure drop Toots and the Maytals plus any ska especially the old traditional Jamaican ska

I Useta to love her and N17 - Saw Doctors

Purple rain - Prince

Revelry - Kings of Leon

Down in the Tube Station at Midnight - The Jam

Gloria - Van Morrison

I have a memory stick that plugs into the wagon. My taste is wide ranging. On that stick is a multitude of albums. From Dr DRE, Snoop Dog, Eminem and NWA, to smooth R’n’B like Joe, Toni Braxton, LL Cool J et el. Right through to Dire Straights, the Police, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Weller and Oasis to name but a few. Variety is the spice of life.
