instead of connecting them to the brackets on the unit when solo, do you just put these into the brackets instead, if so, whats the point??
the point is to stop them sliding down towards the propshaft, looks like a cheaper way of doing it
Dunno,it maybe to try to stop crap getting in.
I’m not to sure which these you’re asking about.
I can see a cap for each air-line, hanging on a bit of chain. Presumably for fitting into/over each air line, to keep the crap out.
I can also see a small spike on each air line. I expect that the spike drops into a hole on a bracket fitted on the cat walk somewhere.

I agree on both of those counts. And after having to drain my air tanks on Wednesday morning after some moron left the airlines facing upwards and snow had built up, melted, built up etc on them, sleeves were frozen solid on the inside and the outside and 10 mins into my journey I decided that my brakes were binding and drained the air tanks… These caps should be compulsory
We carry a gallon of methanol on each of our service vans for frozen up problems like this.
Bit of methanol down the suzie keeps everything ice-free
i used to use methanol, brilliant on trucks that never had the tanks drained, but it is very toxic through the skin so be a bit careful.

Only through the skin of the stomach as far as I know… You have to drink methanol for it to poison you.
In any case, are we really talking about industrial meths here, which is mostly ethanol rather than methanol in the first place…

Its ok the op has another guessing game going in the “strange” thread but I was told off for being pedantic
Well looking at how clean they are and free of grease and muck they work well in keeping them tidy
