…did a shift for Royal Mail yesterday, it was one of those ‘contingency’ shifts
so I sat on my arse 7.5 hours doing absolutely nothing in the office/waiting area
oh yes sorry forgot, I moved TWO trailers from bay x to bay y
yes the waste of money is theirs not mine, I got full pay for doing nothing, which is great for many but I actually do agency shifts for the fun of driving so I was a tad disappointed not to drive
I know how you feel, used to have shifts like this when I was on the buses.
You were there in case someone missed a shift or similar. The first hour or so is alright but then the boredom sets in, would much rather be out on the road.

Didn’t think i’d get chance to use this again so soon!
Welcome back!
I was busy helping my elderly father who has been ill in hospital in Italy Evil, I have now ‘kidnapped him’ and brought him to live in the UK with me hence I was ‘out of action’ for a while, but ‘back in the driving seat’ now (or back in the ‘boredom chair’ of Royal Mail?? )

Multiple images of that clip were doing my head in, hence the edit!
Hope he’s recovering, or feeling the best of what can be expected…
Is it too bold to say he’ll now probably need to?
As for you post…
I can understand, or sympathise with someone who faces day after day of bordom, but for a single shift, you haven’t a hope of even an ounce of sympathy from me!
We both know you’re ticking down a clock at RM, and you had the opportunity to get in 7+ hours of knitting!
So the question is; did you take your needles?

Patronising enough?
no, 'fraid no knitting needles on me on the day, ‘■■■■’ got to remember to put those in my agency-driver bag of mine
my dad loves living with me as I work all the time so I’m never there hahahaha
my 20 yr old son stays home with him, them two spend all day every day watching footie and movies on sky while I go and earn the bread
as my dad is too unwell to fly I hired a motorhome and went to get him with that, it was a fun trip (not for him though he hated it!)
