I parked at Lancaster srvs last night & when I went to pay for my parking the bloke on tills said do you know the motorway is closed from 8 pm - 6 am to repair at broughton bridge , I was tired / out on my legs so assumed I could just follow diversion .
so got up and headed out services at 2 am to be met by a barrier & a road worker in his car , so knocked on his window and he got out & I said basically what’s the score , it will reopen at 6 but are you desperate to get out 
well yea really , I didn’t realise it was shut & even if I had realised there was nothing I could do as I only had 2 mins left when I parked up
right I’ll ■■■■■■ you down but I just make them aware we’re comming down( bloke did say should be done in hour ) , so stay behind me and nice and steady , so followed him down and past road works ( just had to move one truck ) & thanked him & was on my way
I know we like to have a moan when roads / lanes are shut but thought it was a really great gesture from him and his road working palls
