WH Malcolm to fit driver facing cameras

discoman:

Andrejs:
What problem if you do all correctly.■■? Most bank staff, supermarlet staff work under CCTV ready to many years.

Ok, you buy a new car, and install a dash cam front and rear, why do you think that is… it’s not because of the nice fancy looking camera… it’s to ensure any incidents are recorded…
supermarkets and banks have cameras to 1, ensure theft is kept to a minimum and record staff to stop them stealing … that’s a fact … if your naive to think your employers won’t use driver facing camera against you well then your as naive as Rowley, as mentioned these companies have no lawful right to your image… is it is your employment contract in relation to your image rights being passed on to a 3rd party? …ie insurance company, don’t use the streets and all have cameras if you shop in a supermarket you agree upon entry to use of cctv … however in your employment contract it needs to be shown and also, what they do with the Data and image etc …

But if drivers do all correctly that they can watch to me all shift time.If driver like drive without attention, speak by phone, eating and much more that him camera will be not liked. And driver come to customer premises. And there as well camera.

If cameras are only there to shaft you then how I have driven with them for the last 5 years and haven’t been shafted with them or had any problem with them?

Maybe the ones who get shafted by them says more about that persons conduct and the way they act at work. Ie like a total ■■■■■■

My answer to your question would be…
That comes with the territory of being the co ‘Yes man’ , maybe eh?

I’ll leave you to see the irony that most of us can see, based on many of your posts, of you labelling people… ''Total Tossers", based on how THEY act at work  …go figure Rowls… :bulb:

Your the biggest yes man I’ve ever come across rob.

Camera can reduced number of accident and reduce cost of damages.

I wouldn’t bother trying to give any positives to this lot of dinosaurs adrejs. They all just like to moan at something new, and especially something that means they can’t get away with bad, illegal, or dangerous habits anymore,

Care to explain ?

I do feel sorry for drivers (and I am being serious for once) because I think we all know in the very near future all trucks will have cameras set on the driver. Drivers have never stuck together and they never will. Personally I am really glad I am retired because as much as I have never had anything to hide I would not want a camera on me all the time when driving. Saying that I doubt it will be much longer before all vehicles will be fitted with these types of cameras from new. It will be a matter of drive it and be filmed or don’t bother driving.
It’s a sad time for transport in general and it’s only going to get worse as the years go by but unfortunately drivers have brought most of it on themselves by constantly flouting the law. Its the good ones that have to suffer because of the bad ones as usual.
Sorry to be a pessimist but things ain’t looking so good.

Sorry to burst any bubbles, but out there in our world are places where drivers do stick together on important things, sometimes via a union sometimes not, when a company finds that the only people they can get to drive their vehicles are the very people who need watching 24/7, well, these things tend to sort themselves out.

Doesn’t bother me if some are happy to have their very own personal CCTV watching them, only them, for every moment they are at work, it’s their choice, wouldn’t be mine but if the are happy to comply so be it, just wonder what next for them?

It’s also my choice and every other driver’s, if we are prepared to accept this invasive surveillance or not, i’m not and there are thousands out there like me, where we have the edge is if our work standards are high, because as we all know there is a shortage of good competent wagon drivers and has been for quite a while…i agree no shortage of licence holders…if push comes to shove we’ll see if those employers who, maybe by the type of work involved, are prepared to lose their most reliable and effective drivers and staff the place with those who might be easy to control, borg like, but may not have anything else going for them.

As i said, these things tend to sort themselves out, i’m not convinced there will be a driver facing camera in every lorry cab in X number of years, just as i’m not convinced that in the lifetime of any driver on this forum that a bunch of computers cameras and sensors are going to replace the bod in control of the lorry.

Of course there are places where drivers stick together but in general they do not and that is why no matter how much some fight they will not win. I agree there are far too many that will do almost anything to get a job or will do almost anything to keep their boss happy. It’s always been the case and it will never change.
The best years have gone Juddian (unfortunately) and it’s been been slipping further and further into what you call “a dumbed down job” People have changed, they think differently and only think about themselves. It’s become a very selfish society and that is why the good will be brought even further down by the bad. I hope I’m wrong but…time will tell.

Trouble is for many good lads, especially the new guys like me the pool of employment is very small and sadly alot of the time it’s only company’s with this equipment that actually will give them a go.

As you say Mr juddian, and as always bloody superbly too, it’s really a case now of the boots gonna fit all regardless, but how could anyone make a stand ‘if’ they genuinely don’t have any choice as ultimately we gotta work an pay the bills so it’s a real as always stale mate.

I personally don’t think ANY audio should be live while vehicles parked, and nor should it be recording while nothings happening.

Would for me atleast take the sting off it a bit but ultimately I think this will be standard in all hgv, pcv, very very soon.

If your manager takes the footage home to toss off over you tossing off then that’s not lawful so if you suspect that then I’d get a union involved.

Your in a UNION. LMAO

Thats the biggest BULL ive ever heard !!!

Yes, tell that to the family of the children killed by the driver on his phone whilst being recorded … as asked , and Rowley likes to ignore, did he sign the rights to his image and dats being stored… do t give the doing nothing wrong nothing to worry about line, CCTV is only there to catch you out … as said prior, the reason I have dash cams in my car is not for pleasure, it’s as evidence if my car was ever hit… and Rowley being deluded thinks it is there for his boss to go home and have ■■■■■■ thoughts over him …

I note what you say about a “selfish society” I have been saying this for a long time and this time when I returned from Portugal my conversation with my vet over there was most illuminating…She said that most of her friends that are working in the UK for the money are now returning to Portugal as the English are now so rude, selfish and inconsiderate that they no longer feel comfortable in the UK and would rather earn less in Portugal but be amongst more normal people! It is a damning indictment that the English are now being seen as such! It was only a matter of time in my opinion, but it will make it more difficult for us when abroad if we do not know the language where we are, as we are being seen in such a negative light…Not good.

Think the boat has sailed on that a long time ago

Living in Spain for half the year,I have to say I agree with Tude about how we are viewed by foreigners. What is the reason for our change in character? Who knows. We used to be known for calm self assurance, now apparently we are the road rage capital of the world.Even afoot there seems to be a lot of angry people about.

Overcrowding.
Social Media.
Constant propaganda.
Envy.
Sloth.
Greed.

People deliberately divided on ethnic or religious grounds in order to control easily, that will backfire spectacularly in a shorter time than some think.

People who have done nothing but work hard done the decent thing and lived by a set of fair morals and a code of ethics all of their lives told they are 'ists or commit 'phobias and should be shunned due to wrong think, or because they were born in a certain period others steeped in envy have been told they had the best of everything, ie supposed magic pensions, that only really applied to the civil service and very few in real jobs.
For generations of the real working class meant a lifetime of hard work, long hours with not great pay and little if anything to show at the end of it but a retirement living week to week.

A whole generation, well two generations for those who fell for the propaganda in its infancy, who have been indoctrinated from babies into believing everything the state and others with vested interests tells them, examples are the man made global warming scam, the fluid gender debate, the indoctrinated hatred of the real working class, #me too cobblers coupled which goes hand in hand with hatred of white mature males.
We haven’t touched on the entitlement that has been installed in the latest generations.

Leaders of the country who have filled their own pockets, even down to thievery on grand scale via MP’s expenses, constant lying of our leaders and so called betters, behaviour of rabid chimps in the House of Parliament if those who are supposed to lead us do not set an example what hope is there for the rest…remember if you are old enough how our headmaster and deputy head and the masters and mistress teachers behaved, i can, they set examples for us children to follow, they observed discipline and expected it from their charges.

Those leaders giving away, often for their own gain, the very country we live in without a shot being fired in its defence, yet the gall those hypocrits have to stand in front of TV cameras looking suitably solemn every November, and don’t forget to wear that poppy in front of the cameras or woe betide you, you couldn’t make this crap up.

Many of those same leaders doing everything they could to deny the people the right the voted for in the biggest act of democracy in this country to undo the treachery of Heath’s Tory govt giving the country away, and the subsequent further surrenders of power via further interim agreements with all parties in govt at the time, they can only be called traitors.

A police force that has forgotten both its oath and the reason it exists, which is to prevent crime and protect the innocent, the two most basic ideals and it’s failed utterly and thousands of little girls up and down the country are just an example of the many who have been sacrificed on the progressive altar.

Don’t get me started on celebrity culture, actors and others with far too high opinion of themselves forgetting their own massive climate footprint whilst telling the rest of us how we should live our lives.

I could go on at some length, but is it any wonder this very Jerusalem and its fine people that i was lucky enough to be born into so many years ago we now barely recognise.

Yep and that’s exactly why we now spend most of our time in Holland. Life and people just seem so much better now.

Not sure of what part,of the UK you are from. I was from London, and we were always ignorant if choosing to be. Nothing has changed it’s been like it since I was a kid in the 80’s and 90’s … the southeast will always be rude and ignorant, it’s not like the old 1950’s 60’s … or like folk up north who actually have time of day for people… and you can borrow a cup of sugar etc… immigration has played a huge part in the southeast going down hill.

Unfortunately it ain’t just London and the south east. It is spreading like cancer. We were visiting friends in Scotland recently and they were saying it’s going the same way although not on so big a scale. It’s such a shame this is happening to the once great UK.
