Just writing to see if any ex employees of this subsiduary of Swains of Stretton are around. I worked for them in the mid eighties when nearly everyone involved was from Wales. The trucks were painted red, white and blue ,just like the parent company, but did mostly tilt work to Italy with an occasional Austrian or France thrown in. I remember a few names but will save them for when anyone posts a reply. So if Ironmold lane or ITC Rho or Miss Cristiana or Salvatores bar in Milan ring a bell please get in touch. For the life of me I can’t remember the name of our agent in Milan but i do remember exactly where it was. 1 ton out and groupage back was our motto. Or was it have fun out and more on the way back■■? Yes folks in the days before “just in time” and no borders we managed to earn a living and have a social life." Modern life is rubbish" as Blur stated on their 1992 Album and I can’t disagree. Anyway enough ranting from me but please feel free to comment/get in touch.
