Westbury

Hi guys, heading up to Brook lane Westbury tomorrow afternoon. Will be coming in off the A303, A350 wagon and drag.bout 13’9’’ high. Anyone know the best way through the town, not been up that way for a while. Cheers

Follow A350 through Westbury (you’ll have to go long way because of 7.5t bridge) keep on A350 out of Westbury and after 5 minutes you’ll come to little village called Yarnbrook and there’s a roundabout with a garage and a pub on it turn left there under a bridge (15 ft at least) you will be on the B3097 now. Follow road through Hawkeridge and you’ll come to mini rounabout with spar shop to your right (nice pasties in there) go straight over and that’s Brook Lane somewhere along there.
I know the area well as was brought up near there and go to ULN a lot which is there.

Thankyou again kind Bald Bloke

They’re on the left down there I think. If you get to the bollard you’ve gone too far but can turn around if you go past it.

The roundabout to turn left on is a BP and the pub opposite is The Hungry Horse. There is a sit down transport cafe on the lsrge industrial estate.Go past Tuffnels on your right.Get to the T junction with the pub and nightclub on your left.
Turn right at the T.
Go past Rygor transport and the VW dealer and its down on Engineer or Chemical road. The locals wont bite and will tell you where it is and if you see Chandlers coaches office that is the street for the cafe.
It is inside a haulage yard.
The police stop there for a break too.

Be carefull if end up near the railway station as thst bridge is now a 3.5 ton weight limit and low bridge heading to the town centre.Chip shop in the centre but no truck parking space.

If park in the industrial estate and walk to Hawkeridge there is a nice country pub that does excellent meals.Large or small portions and real ales.It is called The Royal Oak.Beer garden has views of the White Horse hill.Puddings are worth the walk back to the truck. They have 6 x.A strong ale.
The white fish bait for a starter is good.Roast dinners all week too.Prices are spot on for what you get.
