Wessex truck show no more

Just read on FB that Wessex truck show is to be no more
SHOW STATEMENT.

Good morning all. Here is an update on the current situation with the Wessex truck show.

After much consideration the Wessex Truck show team have decided not to stage a show in 2021 due to the ongoing covid pandemic in the UK. We are very aware that there is a number of vaccines being rolled out but we will not be able to get to any normal until at least the spring as long as the vaccines are effective.
This is nowhere near long enough to organise a major event.
With this decision made and after what would be three years away from the show circuit the Wessex Truck show has come to an end.

Our trading company Fosse way Events Ltd seized training on December 3rd.

We would like to thank all of our team for their hard work and dedication over the last seven years as without them our show would have not been so special.

We would also like to thank our sponsors, traders and suppliers for supporting our event so brilliantly.

And finally and most importantly we would like to thank the haulage industry of the south west and it’s drivers for taking our show to heights we never thought we would reach. A show is nothing without the drivers.

We will begin the process of shutting down our social media platforms soon but for the next seven days we will post images and memories of our shows previous. Feel free to do the same.

Wessex will live long in the memory but all good things come to an end.

Not surprised in the least at that. At least four steam and vintage shows that take place in summer are cancelled for 2021, some will probably call it a day anyway. Banbury (Bloxham) , Kelsall, North Rode, (september one may still take place though) and the 1000 Engine Rally which are all in June are cancelled, more to follow no doubt. We have exhibited at nothing since february this year, apart from a one day charity event at Lockerbie truck park a couple of months ago. As secretary of our vintage club I haven’t had much to do this year!
