hiya,
Dave have’nt driven an eight wheeler for donkey’s years but would love to have a go in one of those beauty’s all that power steering and soft seats and i’ll bet there’s a heater, would’nt have been much good in the old days you’d never be able to wake the trailer boy, would need to resurrect the knotted rope.
thanks harry long retired.

Like you Harry, haven’t driven the newer stuff. I would think most of them are as easy as a car to drive, only difference is the size. But different to our days they have bigger and more mirrors to cover the blind spots, also reversing camera’s on the tippers.
Cheers Dave.

A tidy line up of Barrett’s fleet.

Hi Harry,
The special types order comes in three separate weight categories for abnormal load vehicles as follows:
Category 1 - up to 50 tonnes gcw
Category 2 - up to 80 tonnes gcw
Category 3 - up to 150 tonnes gcw
According to my book which is 2009 the maximum permissible weight of a special types vehicle must not exceed 150,000 kg.
Cheers Dave.
