Hi Chaps,
I’m back thanks to all of you for posting a load of nice pics, especially jonmea, who I hope to see at Carmarthen truck show on sunday.Sorry Harry we only got about ten lorry pics whilst on Holiday. A lot of the roads we travelled on were dual carriageway or motorway, not suited for taking pics.
Cheers Dave.
Taken at Conod’s at Barons Cross Leominster, last friday.
One of Conod’s ERF’s,pictured at their yard.
altitude:
I drove an 8 wheeler ERF and twin axle drag, that grossed at 44 ton
You cannot run at 44 tonnes with a two axle trailer. This is why there are not many eight wheel drawbars , you can get 44 with a six wheeler and three axle drawbar.
FROM THE FTA
*** Operation over 40,000kg requires the axle weight of each drive axle not to exceed
10,500kg, the drive axle(s) to have road friendly suspension OR not to exceed 8,500kg
axle weight, the trailer to have road friendly suspension and each part of the vehicle
combination to have three axles. (Operation over 41,000kg requires, in addition, the use
of an engine complying with the Euro 2 standard (or better) or a gas engine.)
welcome back Dave hope you enjoyed your holiday. will see you Sunday

Brand new $4,000,000, 250t Mobile Crane
Friday 8:30h - 26.09.08 —
Castle Hill,
Sydney
Australia,
9 days old 250t crane (first Job) - $8,500 / Day
The mistake was to place the crane on the 8 inch concrete slab
As soon as the jib was all the way out, the slab broke
crane balanced for about one hour before the rest of the slab gave way to the crane
Except for the slightly harmed driver no one was hurt, but no one has seen the site manager since…
