Hi John,
Just the job.I’m always glad when someone else posts some pics on the thread.
Cheers Dave.

More smart Scania’s.

This is a nice old Foden, looks small up against the modern lorries.

I wouldn’t mind the value of all the lorries at the show in my bank account.

One of the local’s.

Local haulier Neville Peate’s moters at the show.

Quite an eye catching small one.

Still a populer moter,the 143.

These will be the same in years to come, still eyecatching.

Hi John,
The Read family mainly operate lorries out of the Forest of Dean, which isn’t that far away, just over an hour by road. One brother had a transport business in Hereford up until the 60’s or so.Richard Read’s artics come up to the quarries near where I live on the Radnorshire/Herefordshire border. I have Paul Heaton’s book about hauliers from Wales and the Borders.Read’s aren’t in that book, but I have a book here somewhere about the Read family.
The nearest firm featured in the book, would be Lloyd’s of Ludlow, which is 23 miles from me. If you have a look on the map I live about 6 miles from Kington, just over the Welsh Border, near New Radnor.
Cheers Dave.
