A six wheeler timber wagon, seen at a show by Jet Morgan.
Fitted with Gardner engine although is it a 5LW or a 6LW ( the guy who posted the pic does not say!!!) tut tut tut !! A Guest.
C’mon atkidave,what engine did it have,a 150 gardner I would guess,but I could be wrong.Bewick needs to know !
Cheers Dave.
OK TK Dave I don’t think it would have a 150 in unless someone “retro” fitted one and JR will be of no help whatsoever as it is long before he was inflicted on the population!!! Anon.

The first 3 you mention are the finest automotive diesels ever made (I hope that cretin Carryfast isn’t on line!!) but the last two you quote were /are a load of crap and you would really be better off with a Bedford engine!!! Dennis.

Tilcon had a few Foden’s with the 201 in them, don’t think they had a lot of trouble with them Dennis, and the blokes at the Gore drove them hard.
Cheers Dave.

All the fun of the Fair. I would say this Foden has a 325 ■■■■■■■ in it.
Now David don’t get cocky !! being a Fairground motor it could have been “badge engineered” as those lads arn’t short of a trick or two !! When the Fair used to pull onto the square in Milnthorpe twice a year we used to service the two ERF 8 wheelers of Scotts ( Rhyl not Barrow) and they were managed by an old time fairground chap called James Jeffries who had is own side shows as well as the s Scotts Waltzer. The first time we had the motors thro’ the workshop I think the bill was about £75 and James gave me the money in 10 p’s and when the girl in our office counted it out it was £5 too much so she checked it again------- still too much!! So I went down onto the square and knocked on James’s living van door and told him he had paid a fiver more than we charged so here you are! He just winked and said “yea son I know I did” give the fitters a treat and we’ll be back every time were in the village !!!Dennis.

These are from Ross on Wye, Gloucester and Swansea as far as I know Dennis. Kington fair used to be Studts and Knighton fair Hill’s,now some of it’s Danters who are from the Ross on Wye area. It’s a wonder that they keep going with all the health and safety issue’s and cost of running the kit, even though they are on showmans licences.
Cheers Dave.
