Welsh Border and Mid Wales Hauliers 1950's onwards

One of Bartetts Scania 141’s arriving at Jacks Hill.

Dave the Renegade:

Aveling Barford dumpers tipping into the primary crusher at the Gore quarry early 1970’s.

Smiths had one of those Avelings:You used to be able to turn the seat around somehow so you faced the tipper. IIRC they weren’t very stable at speed.

Dave the Renegade:

My mate the late Clem Davies loading Mann-Abell lorries at the Gore quarry late 60’s/70.

Is that shovel an International?

A few more of the cafes main customers.

Dave do you remember Jacks Hill in the seventies before the cafe was extended? It was the low buiding to the left of your shot. I remember the home baking that was spread along the counter,  No wonder we are all so bloody fat!
Happy days eh? I have to say it’s gone downhill since then. (A bit like my waistline). Ps no cheeky comments needed from Animal. Regards Kev.
