Happy New Year to you and the other “tipper boys” who enjoy this thread.
As its a new year Ive decided to stretch the Welsh Border a little bit further south, to Melbourne Australia, didnt think you would mind a pic of this cracking, Caterpillar powered, Cargo.
It was just waiting to get on the machine and tip a load of black.
Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark,
Have had a bit of a shortage of tippers lately, its good to see that Cargo, they were a neat looking compact tipper, not many ran them this way, although there is a chap still running a H reg on lime.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Dave, that’s next years Christmas cards taken care of, and thats the only place i wish to see snow, looks like you’ve had a bit of a pasting like us up here in the frozen north.
thanks harry long retired.
Hi Harry,
Thats about 6 miles from here,up on Radnor Forest,we had about 3 inches of snow,it must have been a foot up there, its 1,600 feet above sea level where that bit of road is,the hills rise to above 2,166 feet, also drifts a lot,in 1963 it was up over the telephone poles.I can see the Forest from here, thats close enough.
Cheers Dave.

They really couldn’t run a ■■■■-up in a brewrey !! they have obviously thought they would get away with a mild winter probably but have come unstuck big time ! the chinese wouldn’t put up with it they would have lined the county engineers up against the wall by now and then I dare bet the new blokes wouldn’t be short next year !!! Anyway what are all these short of work welsh tippermen doing ■■ You should be holding the buggers to ransome for treble rates plus M/T running and standing time !!! C’mon son get your finger out and get organised !!! Bewick.

Happy new year to you Dennis, its time the council’s sorted themselve’s out, they are all in debt for millions, they can’t manage on the budget they recieve,if they cut out on the waste and got rid of half the high earners who aren’t doing anything, they might have some money for salt. Wait until the frost come’s out of the ground, then the roads will be a mess, there’s potholes everywhere now. They have made cutbacks for years on road expenditure, now they are making excuses that they aren’t getting the right funding to carry out road improvements. I’m afraid its got to the stage where its all going to come tumbling down around their ears like a pack of cards Rant over.
As for the tipper boys, they only went back to work today, usually takes a week for things to get going again, this time, that may not happen.
Cheers Dave.

Could’nt agree more Dennis,Me and a mate of mine who used to run his own haulage business like yourself, have been saying this for a long time, all these politician’s ■■■■ in the same pot, they are only concerned about number one, this country is well and truly effed. They keep saying the reccession is over,it has’nt reached the bottom yet, there is nothing left in this country the place is bankrupt. These next few months are going to be harder for a lot of people, and a lot more are going to be out of work, the fuel is going up like mad again, its not just the 2.5% back on the vat,the oil companie’s are banging it up.
I’d better stop I’ll depress myself no I bloody won’t,but I could a few others.
Cheers Dave.
Hi Bewick,
P.S. As well as, 40% IN THE £1 for their pension, they also get 0% finance on their cars,or get supplied with top of the range cars belonging to the authority.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Wonder has he phoned in for instructions, i used to know where all the phone boxes was and where you could park to use them, also had, still have the AA box key which also fitted the RAC boxes “are there any left” and that was very useful for making the old reverse charge call to the office and normally much cleaner than the PO boxes and were mostly in laybys handy.
thanks harry long retired.

Hi Harry,
Used to do the same myself, reverse the charge,or in some cases the boss repayed it when you put it on your time sheet.Don’t expect that box at Llanyre takes coins, the one’s in this area don’t,only a BT card or you can make emergency calls. BT wanted to remove several in this area, but failed because they are like the kiosk above, the old type which are listed,so they have to leave them in working order, they can’t be making any money these days,as most people have mobiles.
Cheers Dave.
