Norm, I think the thread should be renamed,Welsh Border lorries plus a few tippers, just can’t find enough different one’s to post, can get plenty of tipper pics, trouble is they are already on here.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
That’ll do for me Dave just hope the sheets are in good nick and enough rope for every hook even at my age i would still like to make a good impression.
thanks harry long retired.
Hi Harry,
I expect you can still teach the younger generation of drivers how to rope and sheet a load, most haven’t done that, its curtainsiders nowadays, they are spoiled these days.
Cheers Dave.
Volvo FM eight wheeler whale tanker, seen on the A44 near Leominster.
hiya,
Dave, the nearest i ever got to curtainsiders was tilts and if you had to strip them down i found them hard work and could make a canny job of roping and sheeting a load in a third of the time only problem now would be getting on/off the load, can i just run empty on account of being past it??.
thanks harry long retired.
Hi Harry,
A chap from this way has the same problem,he’s 75,he still drives a lorry now and again, but getting up on the bed is hard for him,so he just leaves it to his drivers most of the time.
Cheers Dave.
Here’s one for you Harry,as a heavy haul man this Foden should be ok,also not much climbing, just chain the load down and away.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Would need instructions on the driving of Fodens Dave, always thought i’d never driven one but pulled one of Robinsons half shed things off the loading bay a distance of about 50 yards never got out of second gear, but with the help of my caravan steps could just about get up on the semi low loader.
thanks harry long retired.
Don’t think you would have any problem Harry, after driving some of the older lorries, one of those would be a doddle to you.
Cheers Dave.
