His brother is ten years younger,he went on his own a few years ago,but had an accident and had to finish,he intended going on,but its all down to your health and fitness,as we both now. But the important thing is,as it says on the bottom of this is.

Its nice to see the local hauliers supporting their own carnivals ect. We have a big Torchlight procession round Kendal in early September which started back in 1969 over the years we have had upto 20 artics in show .It use to get out of hand somtimes but how could you turn down schools,playgroups customers ect .but it was an nightmare for the traffic office for 2/3 days prior to the Friday night but our drivers didn’t mind as it was all for charity !!However the number of floats has dwindled to a handful it is mainly marching bands &vintage vehicles now. I have never actually been to Llandrindod Wells carnival,can’t really say I have been to any,they have one in Knighton,which is only 7 miles frrom me,but I haven’t seen it for years. I am involved with my own village where I live,on a few things here,thats enough for me in my advancing years.

Thats a nice looking MAN,I am surprised no operators have run one this way,one of the hauliers was quite keen on having one a while back. Pursy over in Shropshire runs a couple I think.

Those Williams MAN’s are bang tidy. The 2nd one is driven by a guy called Idris. Went to one of them straight from a manky old L-Reg ERF EC 6-legger! Bent he couldn’t believe his luck.
I like the MAN, the older ones were too heavy for quarry work I think. Not sure about the more recent models but they must be ok or nobody would run em’?
There was a write up in the commercial moter a few weeks ago,a firm working in the South East swear by them.They were doing a lot of muckshift,so as you say hammer,the heavier duty tippers would be on that. I notice that firm that run them from South Wales, K.H.B.S. are on heavy work,I think jonmea posted some pics of them the other day.

Quite right Bewick,I have to put them on as I upload them otherwise I would probably post the same photo twice,if you think you saw a lot of Gough’s none stop,you look back through this thread,there’s pages of other hauliers. I think I probably uploade a few to many at a time. I should like a lot of other members post an album at a time,but I just put them on one at a time,being very old and thick.

No Dave its me that lives in the Stone Age I just wrote letters ----- what you do is way beyond me !! But all the same I have a lot of good photos but I doubt if you will ever see them .However I believe there is one of my ex drivers has a lot of my photos as I loaned him my archive sometime ago .He also has alot of other pics of many other hauliers from south ■■■■■■■ which he is always promising to show me !!!Cheers Bewick.
